Any professional race car driver will tell you that a car that is easy and forgiving to drive is extremely important as it enables them to go faster. Why this is seen as a negative by some is perplexing.

Knight Industries because some people say that some ‘drivers’ car like the 458 require skill to drive. I still the gtr would be great to drive. Why wouldn’t it be if it gets great reviews online and all these top youtubers sating good things about it?

How did this analogy get up votes? Astronauts don't do their jobs for fun, space shuttle designs, like anything in such serious industries are designed to be as efficient as possible. Street cars on the other hand are meant to be fun, honestly who the hell cares what car has the fastest lap time and how "efficient" it is, if it isn't fun and an involving experience then why bother, might as well drive something slow but fun, like a miata.

I was lucky enough to own a 2010 GTR for 2 years. It is an awesome car no doubt but unless you take it on track you never ever get to push the car. I took mine round SIlverstone and Millbrook and loved it. In the long run though, I think car's like this are just too fast to be purely driven on the road. You don't get anywhere near the enjoyment out of them that reviewers and people that dream of owning one think you would. The interior of the 2017 car is light years ahead of my old GTR, although given the hike in price from what they were in 2010 you would expect it. The GTR is a car to be experienced that's for sure. The reality of driving one day to day however isn't as thrilling as you'd expect.
@JoJoJoker8 жыл бұрын
That's the impression I get. As awesome as the GT-R & 911 Turbo they're just blue balls on wheels unless used on a track. Anything over 400-450 HP (original GT-R & 997 Turbo power) and it's a constant exercise in restraint.

And that is what Mizuno-san has always said. The GTR is a car for everybody to be enjoyed. It has never had the intention of being a "race-car" for the Schumachers of this planet. It is made to have fun all year long, sun, snow, rain, and by anybody. I think such a car is even harder to build than a track focused car that needs to satisfy 150 people on the planet like a McLaren 675 or Posche GT3 or RS.

The R34. Raw. Alive. And a challenge to drive? *Rewind 17 years* people where saying the same thing people saying about the R35. "It does all the driving for you. It takes no skill to drive this car. This car is a Desktop computer on wheels (Laptops weren't as huge back then as they are now) This car is souless." People said the same about the R33. And the same about the R32. Not trying to say nothing bad about any of the GT-Rs. Buuuuuut. I just can't stand double standard hypocrisy. When the R36 comes, if I hear anyone say "the R35 was more "raw", "involving" and more of a "challenge to drive" Just know, that this time, the internet is large, and we have video proof of the hypocrisy reviewers are leaking out. why everyone keep talking about how easy the car is to drive. FOR CHRIST SAKES, that's what it was design and manufactured to do. Nissan engineers and CEO said that's the whole purpose of the r35 GTR. they made a car that do exactly what they were trying to achieve so job well done. It's an engineering masterpiece. they could put that same type of power in the q60 coupe without the intelligent awd suspension and have the car "more fun" and tail happy but that's not the purpose for the umpteen time. The design and build a supercar for both novice and prtofessionals alike. lap times are not set by fun factor and big power and torque, but by confidence in the drivability of the vehicle. 565 hp is more useful when you push it to it's limits than a 707hp car that you can only effectively use about 480hp of it around a track.

98% of the people critisising GT-R driving dynamics have never driven one, nor would have the ability to take it to the limit anyways to actually experience how it feels when properly pushed. General issue with modern performance cars, they are so fast that you realistically don't get to properly push them on public roads.
@EVMYT8 жыл бұрын
What made the GTR so fast at the time it came out was its Dual Clutch gearbox. That's how it could beat supercars in 2008 as it was first to have one and it meant it could flat shift cutting seconds off its 0-60. Now that all supercars and fast sports cars have dual clutch shifters, the GTR is merely keeping pace with them until modded.

I've played a racing game that has Laguna Seca, Streets of Willow and Big Willow and it did not help at all in real life. Driving a real car on a real track is nothing like the video games, video games don't give you the small details in grip levels through braking and acceleration. It also takes out the small bumps on the track that really disrupts the balance of the car as well. My video game times are always 3-6 seconds faster than in real life.
@kareldegreef39458 жыл бұрын
of corse it helps => it has been proven scientifically over and over ! and if you didn't done that your laptimes would have been 10 to 12 seconds slower& :-) of corse you can never expect to get the same results in real life than in a simulation that would be foolish to believe but simulations do help and professional people do use them just as airline pilots do use it and the millitairy does use it !!! gues you just think that these people are doing it just for enternainment and that the millitairy and aviation spends millions on simulators for fun ??? hahahahaha silly you :-)

R35 is an amazing piece of machinery and with the facelift its even better, it finally got an interior it deserves. However, I have two problems with it. One is the fact that they try to claim things like that 2.8 sec 0-62mph which is never true. The second problem stems from the first one: the fanboys. They actually think that GT-R is the only car people should be buying and that its actually faster than, say, a 911 Turbo S just because it looks faster on paper. Nissan need to realise that GT-R is a very special car, but they need to stop trying to make it a 'supercar killer'. Claim only the figures which are true and just be proud of whatever they are.
@jfphotography698 жыл бұрын
People with just a bit of brains need to stop comparing the $100K GT-R to a $200K Porsche and a $300K Ferrari, even though those cars are twice and three times the price, the GT-R is right there with them for a fraction of what those other two will cost you, and the GT-R is easy to drive by anyone.
@JoJoJoker8 жыл бұрын

Honestly, if it weren't for the GT-R, I wouldn't care about cars. The R35 is special, and always will be for me. It marked a giant that wasn't something with an astronomical price sticker, and instead a car that begs, "Let us speak, and the world will listen". A New Nissan GT-R Nismo costs around $160,000- Around half the price of some used Ferrari 458s and with much more to it. I can't think of another car which has so much of a heart inside that twin-turbo V6 where everyone else just throws in a bigger engine with more cyllinders rather than using a small package to get massive results. I won't deny it, I'm a bit of a weeb- But hear me out. I can't get myself to like european cars much (Rimac C_Two, Porsche 918, and just about every koenigsegg are obviously big exceptions.) Nothing speaks to me, at all. While they're cool, Porsche 911s are too common, too much of a "look at me" car which is hard to distinguish from a boxter or cayenne. BMW? I respect them, but that's not my cup of tea. Any time with a BMW just isn't that awe-inspiring fun that I can have with a GT-R. As for American cars, I frankly can't stand them. While I love what my country has, I see the same camaro and mustang and corvettes over and over and over, and at this point they feel about as exciting as the color beige. (Let it be known that I would probably need an underwear change if I ever had the pleasure of even sighting a Hennessey production car). And, Being downright honest, most american cars are complete ass at cornering. The Corvette is just a bar of soap with Traction/Stability control off, and we all know the mustang meme. But with the GT-R, it's a breath of fresh air. Aside from the 911 or AE86, I've never seen a car as versatile as the GT-R, but none as special as It. There are just so many tuning companies and choices, it's nearly unheard of for it to all be one company, even if you buy a package from one place. And then there's just the pure thrill of it- a simple AWD system that reminds me just why I love the configuration so much. It's a giant slayer on both the drag strip and the mountain roads, where every corner is alive. When you show this car to someone who only barely knows cars, they won't care. It'll just be an expensive nissan to them, and that's just how I'd like it to be for me. It's not a car for attention of others, but the attention of the owner's heart. As one of my role models, Akira Nakai, owner of RWB once said, "What brings us together is pure self-expression." And that's the key for me about cars. They're a scream in the face of beige. They're a love of life, the hardship and the adrenaline. And for me, when it comes for one that I wish to put my heart through, it's the R35, and even when the R36 dawns upon us, I doubt it'll ever quite have the same legacy.

This guy is in a real hurry to get to the Spa. It's the opposite mood that most people are in when they go to the Spa.

Another good review. Time for a revamp next year. Had to laugh at EVo team Porschar and thweir drag race with a GTR Track spec and a GT3 RS. Cannot even get the correct GT-R. Nismo silly.

You could mention that it never actually hits the 2.7 seconds which bothers me quite a lot. Why do they still quote a figure that is just not true and get away with it?
