I have seen thousands of gymnastic vids but this is only the second time I have seen (14:48) the skill performed by Lilia Podkopayeva more than 20 years ago. No one has done it in between, to my (fallible) knowledge.

Maya Holmes why? Just because you've been doing something longer doesn't garantee that you'll be better.

love the new gracefullness fro us gymnasts. lack of it in olympics drove me crazy. so pretty to watch. esp beam. hope for more standin twists on floor, even combinations on floor. instead of "the wolf"

Love birt has a bright future, she's only 11 and had great execution and technique, not that the others don't but she stood out to me because she's so young yet so polished, plus it was her first p&g meet.

So much talent and hard work. I wonder if some of these girls will eventually switch their nationality so that they are assured of nomination for worlds and olympics, instead of paling into insignificance in the depth of the American field.

finfelagund we had 2 do it for the Olympics and they weren't received well for it. I think because neither had ever stepped foot in the country they represented.

Annie didn't even compete level 10 yet, ofcourse she's not in this competition. And she's clearly not good enough for a competition like that, just look at those girls. You can't even compare Annie with them.
@hannahpotter8827 жыл бұрын
lover_e ramos Annie's not even good enough. Just because she does gymnastics doesn't mean she wants to compete or will compete a big meet. Bratayley fans can be kind of ignorant some times

I hate luikins philosophy with the juniors. He's creating great young athletes but they burn out quickly. Just look at Kaitlyn Ohashi and Rebecca Bross. Both great at young ages but he pushed them to hard with difficulty to the point where they had to retire
@jojox97917 жыл бұрын
Maddie Abramson what?? A. Why would this be Liukins fault? He is their "team coordinator", not their coach. And the reason they are so polished at such a young age is because of the HOPES and camps programs. They train with the senior elites and they get proper technique training right from the start. Which, is a USA gymmastics thing, not Valeri luikin. In fact his WOGA girls didn't look half ad polished as Fong 's girls. The GAGE kids truly stood out here. I think the logic behind your comment is actually backwards. This is also nothing new. Jordyn competed here at 11. Nastia, and many other amazing gymnasts who had amazing careers were here at 11 and 12 years old.
@jojox97917 жыл бұрын
Maddie Abramson ps...Rebecca and katelyn didn't "burn out" this sport claims many to injuries and that's exactly what happened. Difference between injury and burn out. These girls look amazing
@TheMsmith777 жыл бұрын
What's weird is they only focused on young kids in the audience. ..maybe one or two adults but mostly children. That's kinda creepy. Seemed to be more kids than parents...just my observation.
