A very much under rated car. It's a hidden gem and great value second hand.

Thanks very much indeed! Yes, I sourced a three year old Toledo for a client in 2018. They are excellent value for money on the secondhand market. This is one of the best cars I have ever owned, and all the Mark 4 Toledo owners I have been in contact with rate them really highly too.

This model (well the Rapid) is on my ever changing list of what car to get next when I can end my PCP deal on the current one (Mini Clubman). However reading forums etc... many suggest that the older 1.2 engine is more driveable. That is, has a wider torque band. Have you tried the 1.2, which was in many Skodas/Seats/VWs up 2016 I think.
@lloydvehicleconsulting
@lloydvehicleconsulting 4 жыл бұрын
Yes, I have tried two 1.2 TSI Toledos with 105 bhp. One of them was an April 2017 Style Advanced (the facelifted Toledo with the 1.0 engine was released in July 2017), so the exact predecessor to this model. I actually think the three cylinder is smoother and the torque curve is very wide in it, as it pulls from under 2000 rpm. The fuel economy in both is very good. My uncle has the 85 bhp TSI engine in his Skoda Rapid Spaceback, and he also gets excellent fuel economy. My Toledo will be for sale in about July/August, I think...

I own a 17 plate Toledo Xcellence and love it. Apart from the cup holder issue (1st World problems) and a dodgy sat nav, where she occasionally seems to get off on sending me through town centres rather than from A road to A road (but I'm wise to her now), I love it! As for your comments, they are definitely real leather seats! I'm really grateful for the CD player in the glove box. Most modern cars don't have one at all, it is a relic which everyone else is discarding. I've used it less than I originally thought, but I'm happy I still have the option to pop in a CD should I so wish.

Yes, I gave up on the satellite navigation quite soon after I bought the car, as it wasn't up to date enough, and didn't necessarily cope with modern traffic conditions very well. The 17 plate facelift Toledos (almost all facelift Mk4 Toledos are 1.0 TSi Xcellence Manuals) were only sold from late June to the end of August, so that is quite a rare car. Production finished in the autumn of 2018, but plenty of 19 plate Toledos around, as Seat had trouble selling them due to poor marketing. It does have a CD player, but it's impossible to change discs on the move, which was a bit dangerous. I was grateful for it, though! I have a full review of the car as part of the Tweed Jacket Reviews series, which was the first video ever on the channel, actually. Thank you ever so much indeed for watching, ours was an excellent car, and was sold to some friends a few months ago.

It's a great car brought the same car new in 2018 made a quiet a few miles on it never gave me problems very happy with a car and I agree it's a shame they don't produce the Toledo anymore is just a great car and not to mention the size boot. I just got a question just not sure about the pressure tyres do u know what is the right tyres pressure?

Thanks Felipe! So glad you enjoyed the review. It was the first video ever on the channel, so we have improved a bit since then, I hope. Yes, I absolutely love it. Done three ownership reports on it on the channel since! My only issue is what to replace it with when the finance agreement ends in August... Not sure what the tyre pressures are supposed to be, I will have to look and get back to you. The tyre pressure monitoring system on ours has been really helpful!

Thanks ever so much indeed! Yes, the ergonomics of the CD Player are not brilliant, sadly... You are right that most cars these days don't even have one at all! The service intervals vary, but they are usually about 10,000 miles or every year in my experience, but the car will decide for itself.

I purchased mine as a pre-reg from Arnold clark Oldbury West Midlands in May 2018 with just 2 miles on the clock and almost 3 years later its given me 10,000 miles of very happy motoring. The 1.0 litre TSI 110BHP engine is a gem, and the boot size is unmatched in a vehicle of this category. Its not perfect, I hate the armrest but it can be placed out of the way and I agree with the reviewer about the key fob internal battery going flat about once a year - just keep a spare in your wallet, its the size of a 20p coin and doddle to change so no big deal. I also agree that the CD player in the glove box is difficult to access, but you will find most of VW's range of cars of this this era are the same - this is due to a theft of info entertainment systems issue that have a visible CD player in the dash board (out of sight out of mind). You won't see many of these cars on the road which is due to poor marketing - probably one of affordable motorings best kept secrets - Very recommendable car..

Thank you for watching, Ian! We sold the car to a friend in July, as the finance agreement finished, but I don't have a bad word to say about it. Exceedingly cheap to run, well mannered, very practical, well equipped and extremely good value. I imagine the pre-reg must have been even better value! There are just over 1,000 Mark IV facelift Toledos in this country, so not common at all. That armrest was an absolute pain! If you look in the video description, then you will see the link to the full review that we did back in September 2018.

I have Seat Toledo from January 2019. Engine 1.0 TSI 110 HP. Color cappuccino beige, version Style. In my opinion its a great car for family 2+1 or 2+2. Very functional vehicle. Great acceleration below 10s to 100 km/h. Low fuel consumption below 5,0 litres of petrol per 100 km. Range - more then 1000 km with full back. Totally udereated car. And now Seat don't produce that car. I probably was the last person in my country (Poland) who bought a new Toledo. So sad☹️.

Yes, an absolutely fantastic car! Production finished in mid 2018, but there were still many sold in 2019. Have you seen my full review of the car as part of the Tweed Jacket Reviews series? We have had our Toledo now for almost three years. I got 55 mpg on a journey today (not sure what that is in litres per 100 km). You are right, it will do about 600 miles or 1000 kilometres on a tank of petrol. It is a shame that it has been discontinued really...

@@lloydvehicleconsulting Interesting fact with my Toledo is that I was not positioning this car on my favorites group. My opinion about this vehicle was changed after test driving on 2018. And now I am a happy and satisfied owner of Seat Toledo. So it was a nice surprise for me 🙂.

Stupid question, but I have bought a used toledo love the car so far. But why do I have an ignition key if its keyless start? Is there anywhere you can start the car manually or what is the key for?
@lloydvehicleconsulting
@lloydvehicleconsulting 4 жыл бұрын
Lots of cars have the key blade as keyless entry keyfobs often go flat a lot more readily than standard keyfobs. I used to change mine once a year without fail having once been stranded when the battery in the keyfob went flat.

It certainly does look like a quality car, but then I would expect nothing less from a VW group car, just a real shame about the CD player, not the best position for it. Glad to hear the car has served you well. I still don't know why my Focus 1.0 has such poor fuel consumption as I am quite a careful driver your MPG figures I can only dream of. Great review Sir!
@lloydvehicleconsulting
@lloydvehicleconsulting 4 жыл бұрын
Yes, it has been a superb car. These aren't to everyone's taste, but for me it is a virtually perfect car. I would have the new model if it existed, but it hasn't been replaced and the Skoda Scala is much more expensive, so I will have to look elsewhere. Don't know why the CD Player is in such a terrible place, but there we go. Not sure why your 1.0 Ecoboost Focus with a similar power output would have such bad economy, although I almost exclusively drive the Toledo on motorways and dual carriageways in light traffic, so that probably helps quite a lot!

I have read many reviews that the Ford 1L ecoboost engine gets terrible economy. Low 40s at best. Similar story with the Mini 1.5 3 cyl. Pulls well. No more economic than the 1.6 it replaced.

@@colinhicks4174 Thanks Colin that's about right the most I have had is 44 mpg on a run. I had read that mpg wasn't great before I bought the car but I was still a bit disappointed with 43/44 mpg when I think the claimed mpg is 61. My previous Focus diesel actually often did more than the claimed mpg but sadly that car was written off so I had to get something quickly. The ecoboost does a little less mpg than my previous MK1 1.6 Focus. Thanks again for your comment.

@@colinhicks4174, it's funny how some manufacturers seem to have got amazing economy out of small turbocharged three cylinder engines, and others have not, isn't it?
@colinhicks4174

I’ve not been convinced that smaller capacity is always more efficient. For example on the R56 Mini. The 2L Cooper SD was more efficient in all driving conditions than the 1.6 Cooper D. Because the 1.6 lacked torque. You could drive the 2 litre on tick over. I even got a dealer to admit it. A friend owns a 1.4 petrol Octavia. He’s very impressed with the performance and economy. Often mid 50s. Although he’s posted a couple of suspicious 70&80 mpg pictures on Facebook. Must have been going downhill.
