I've had my 1962 P4 100 Rover for a couple of months now. Like you, I found the gears incredibly hard to manage at first because the gear stick kind of sits in the air so you have to get used to intuitively knowing where to move it to. However, I did get used to the gear changes after a few drives. I would think it would be impossible for most people not to crunch the gears repeatedly for the first few drives at least. The other negative feature of the car is how heavy its stearing is. If one is usually driving a modern car and then takes a P4 for a drive, I think the heavy steering will always take a minute or two to adjust to. On the plus side, I hadn't realised what a beast the P4 is under the boot. And that is one of its best features. Having overdrive makes all the difference.

Yes, the video is on the Sensible Secondhand Reviews/Classics playlist! The steering is very heavy and about 4.6 turns lock to lock. I remember it well. The gear change was...interesting! Can't remember if I crunched during the changes or not now, I probably did. Thank you very much indeed for watching and commenting.

Afraid a joke missed there sir of Mr Bill's Mégane, saying "it could have been his". But the first part very much enjoyed. Waiting for the other 6 parts with suitably baited breath.

Yes, I wasn't very impressed with the Crossfire, really. I did take a lot of criticism at the time for the video, but I stand by what I said. The SLK, at least, wasn't pretending to be something that it wasn't.

Up to Part Six at the moment in terms of editing, and I also filmed three more parts at the British Leyland Autumn Rally today, so it has been a busy weekend... I have driven a Mark V Cortina on my channel, and two Mark II Mondeos, but never a Mark I Mondeo nor a Mark III Cortina, funnily enough....
