Hello, Nice review. I would like to share my my experience with you guys as owning the same colour (Carbon Steel) DSG Skoda Rapid 2017. The car is best handler in its segment. The colour looks as beautiful in real life as in the video well i personally don't like the braking on automatic cars (this is a person to person view) . I've grown in love with this car have ridden it 10,000 Km in 3 months. Few problems i've faced if you sit up 4/5 people in car the car is sure to scrape on speed breakers . The mud flaps are very easy to break over our Indian roads. DRL cannot be switched off ( that can be irritating for some) . This car is absolutely worth the ₹

I've two more Rapid in my family . general service is not be worried about if you take good care of your car and have general knowledge about it. getting a maruti / hyundai, might have been a choice of majority of our society, bcoz of low cost maintenance & great mileage due 2 its thin light body. but it z definitely very weak n more prone 2 injury / life risk in case of any accident. d cost of maintenance isnt costly than ur life. thats why most of d people now a days prefer german engineering. intelligent ppl are preferring vw polo (hatchback with sheer built quality) over maruti dzire(compact sedan with very light body structure), as both costs around 8-9 lakhs. life z precious. dont bank on d afterlife.

you are wrong. the reason is Skoda and VW gives huge bill for parts replacement for any issue, particularly when warranty period finishes.

... its 2017 bro... from d last 3-4 yrs... d spare cost of vw & skoda have reduced drastically... when compared with d spare cost of maruti... skoda z 10-20% costlier & vw z 30-40% costlier... so preferably, skoda z quite affordable now... afterall that extra 20% isnt costly than our life... in case of vw & skoda, chance of part / spare failure z minimal...

Martin Gabriel ... yes... skoda's cost of maintenance z lower than Volkswagen's & Honda's... for instance... honda vehicles service interval z in every 6 months... this way d annual service cost of a honda city z approx 4000+6500, i.e. 10-11k each year, whereas skoda rapid's z serviced once in a year, @ approx 8k

Rapid . Already 2 in my circle one mine and other my friend. One 2015 one the face lifted. Facelifted is awesome. Day one while driving back mileage was 12.4 pl. Go for it you will never regret.

Awesome looking car ! It looks much better than the facelifted Vento on my opinion ! I hope there is no turbo lag in this facelift on the 2nd gear (manual). Yeah ? Guys go for Skoda my AT Rapid on Mumbai Pune highway it has given 19.5 but yes I drove it like a gentlemen, 80 to 100 km/hr, yes its a driver delight car not for ordniary men

Hi Motor Beam thanks for the review, I visited showroom after watching your review. I don't travel much and spend lot of time in office, so my preference is always petrol car. Un fortunately every car reviewer talks about only Diesel. I searched for petrol review on rapid, but I didn't found. Kindly suggest me, can go for rapid petrol? City and Highly mileage? I am worried about mileage (Bangalore). Any alternative car. But I am very much impressed with Skoda and VW in built quality materials, safety features, stability and classy. In other car brands, I easily differentiated the cheap materials and improper finishing.

Shiva Trinadh please test drive the Vento TSI automatic. I own one and have been thoroughly impressed by it. On highways it has returned 18 to 23 kmpl! In moderate traffic around 12-13 and in bumper to bumper scenario around 6-7. It is an amazingly drivable car with tremendous acceleration. Easily the most underrated car in the segment...

Hmm really a tough question...as they re twins we should just look at costing. Skoda face is impressive, but I like the vento's rear uplifted version. just take a drive at high-speed at around 130 and look for body roll in both cars. I heard Skoda has little bit of roll compared to vento..but otherwise both re best In the segment. city, ciaz sucks

Karthik Naik I too agree. For petrol city is much refined, smooth. Diesel it's VW. I think u would also appreciate the comfort in high-speed , stability , confidence while cornering of VW compared to Honda. Honda is for city drive. VW is an highway cruiser.

yes I totally agree with you that people would be tempted to opt for compact SUVs but again I believe one has to choose between refinement, practicality, features and ruggedness... I personally still do not understand the concept of a compact SUV since they do not solve the purpose of a proper SUV. But again that's just me. Infact most of these C segment sedans are essentially 4 seaters. So I guess its a mixed bag of thoughts whether you want to go with your heart your mind...
