Would you pick this over an r nine t as it seems to compete with it
@JaretCampisi7 жыл бұрын
honestly I personally wouldn't buy the BMW just because of the engine set up with them sticking out the side. Even just a tip over in the driveway can cause massive damage to the engine.
@Jimisandhu7 жыл бұрын
+Jaret Campisi ahh thats the only thing that puts me of the bmw, im stuck between the two as they are similar priced bikes , im also from england so triumphs are very popular here
@JaretCampisi7 жыл бұрын
ohhhh gotcha. Yeah if it were me I'd take the thruxton. I'd say ride them if you can. That will make the choice much easier for you.
@Jimisandhu7 жыл бұрын
+Jaret Campisi i will do and thanks for the advice, looking forward to your ride and review 👍

You know what is really nice about this bike and what is drawing people to it? The details. It is such a beautiful bike and the detailing is very nice. It reminds me of a Guzzi when it come to style. One thing about the Guzzi is you won't find much plastic on them.
@JaretCampisi7 жыл бұрын
Yes I agree 100%. Such an amazing attention to detail.

Just purchased a left over 2016 from Mike. He was awesome and I highly recommend him and the Camp hill dealership. Price for the leftover '16 was Under $12k. New ones are 15k after triumph raised the msrp for 2017. I think Mike has one more 2016 R version so I would pick that up asap if you're interested as the '16 and '17 models are exactly the same

Wow that is an amazing deal way to jump on that and thanks for sharing! Mike is great :)

does bobber and thruxton have same engine?
@tahag21077 жыл бұрын
Have a question for you Jared, I know you haven't ridden either, but purely based on the walk around/feel. If you had the choice between the thruxton r and the r nine t Racer which would it be ? I need to make the decision by weeks end. Completely sitting on the fence- they're both fantastic. Thoughts ?
@JaretCampisi7 жыл бұрын
I personally would buy the thruxton because I have more experience with the triumph brand. I also am not a huge fan of the boxer engine...if you drop that R nine T you're pretty much dropping it on the engine and your bike is probably gonna get very messed up.

did you do a ride review Jaret? I bought that exact bike in Australia and want to see what you think mate cheers
@DiggaDiggaDo7 жыл бұрын
Fantastic bike , Jaret. I think you are really going to like it once you take a test ride. The engine is a blast and has great low end torque that makes it really fine to ride. Plus a great engine/exhaust note. I bought one end of last year and have been enjoying the heck out of it! Can't wait for you to take it for a ride and see what you think. It rides as good as it looks.

Always wanted the new model Thruxton R but because I bought a new Bonneville T120 in 2017 I thought the two bikes were too similar. But then Brexit caused me to panic I might never be able to get one (I live in Ireland) so I got a 2016 3,100 mile example in silver in the UK three weeks ago. I rode it back to south west Ireland from southern England - 700 miles over three days. I stopped along the way to do the Triumph factory tour at Hinckley UK. Its closely related to the T120 but different enough to be worth owning. I am still keeping my T120 and I also have a 2015 Ducati Monster 821 stripe and a 2005 Kawasaki ZXR 1200R with only 7,800 km since new which I had shipped over from Germany late last year.
@Spartan117KC7 жыл бұрын
With all due respect, do your review after actually learning about the bike. Triumph doesn't use 1200 across their entire line. They use 900s on their 'street' series of bikes which are also in the Bonneville line. The tank strap isn't magnetic, it's a clip on (hence the clip at the top of the tank).
@N3PRO-Dave7 жыл бұрын
Nice. I like to see the bar end mirrors. Why is it so hard hard for manufactures to have decent bar end mirrors to actually see what you need to see instead of your arms. They aren't that expensive.

Looks far nicer than any modern sport bike. The cafe racer look is timeless. Check out the video of mods done on a non-R version called: The Triumph Hoxton? Dutch's Thruxton Catalogue Custom Not sure if those mods can be done on the Thruxton 1200R, but man they are tastefully done mods from the dolphin nose fairing to the rear led light strip.

It doesn't look like Triumph spared any detail on that bike. It's actually priced very well for what it has to offer (97hp is 1990's 600cc sportbike territory as well, not bad). Clip-ons and cafe front faring would finish that bike off very nice!.. Great review!..

Appreciate the feedback...I get all my information straight from the triumph website although I will admit I don't remember it all word for word during a single take when we film...these are just meant to be initial impressive videos showing some high quality video and mentioning some of the details of the bikes not in depth comprehensive reviews.
