I ordered the S model in Great Falls Green Metallic with the manual. I've been consistently getting 30mpg and better in low speed/city driving. I absolutely love my Alltrack!

Love all the VW Golf Sportwagens! Fixed TDI starting to be sold now. But the Alltrack I think is the most interesting model, like you said a unicorn. It’s a “baby” Audi Allroad. Love the green it comes in.

Unicorn. VW produced almost no manuals for the US market. Closest one to me is 900 miles away.

If you like manuals, I suggest that you buy one new. If enough people buy manuals we can revert the dying trend of manuals. Remind you, Audi already kill manual line-up in the U.S..

One doesn't choose the manual because it is easy; it's chosen because you do HAVE to work work to drive the car...that's the appeal. A fantastic car (w/o the panoroof) that needs to stay in VW's lineup.

That sounded like the auto locks. I turned mine off..lol The reverse cam isn't that loud. I drive a '15 SE Golf Sportwagen 6 spd auto, 170hp 199 ft lbs torque. Have gotten 39mpg on road trip. Great performance, utility and economy. I think the curb weight on mine is 3100. Love your vids and that you do dusk/night vids which really shows the dash, interior and exterior lights. Others don't seem to do this. Cheers

I totally dislike the clutches on the newer VWs. Too light and way too much travel, can hardly feel where it takes up. I drove a 6 speed C230 MB and it was great as well as a V6 Audi A4 6MT and both had way better clutches.
@chorseundgrd7 жыл бұрын
The clutch is very bad. I put a clutch stop in my MK7 GTI to combat the travel but the engagement point is so vague. The shifter was poor too. Would constantly lock me out of gears. 1st to 2nd shift was very unpleasant. The 2.0T goes better with the DSG, sad to say.
@Kamukix7 жыл бұрын
I completely agree that the DSG is the better overall car, no contest. As I said in my other comment to you, I don't know which one I'd pick next (owned 2 DSG cars and a ton of manual cars) because I love them both. I can say however that the downsides to the manual have had me back and forth over and over on whether or not I'd buy another new one with it. The clutch travel is crazy long (I added a clutch stop as well), it's too light (I also removed that spring, but I've not changed out the bleeder valve), and the take up point is vague to me compared to the many many many other manual cars I've owned or driven (bleeder valve may help). The shifter itself though I think is the best VW has ever done. It's not perfect, but it's notchy enough that I like that feeling, yet it's soft enough that you can flick it between gears super easily (so there is NO fatigue driving a manual even in stop and go beach traffic that we get here in DE). I've been on the fence about adding a Dieselgeek shifter to the car because of the ease of use I have right now. I had one on my mk4 and it was the best thing ever.......like ever.....but I'm afraid that it might change the shifter too much that it does then become a chore in traffic even if it feels great when driving on track. Oh, I absolutely wanted to cry when I saw that the mk7 GTi now comes with a top mounted throttle pedal instead of floor mounted. Made it very difficult for me to heel and toe, so I wasn't able to track it or autoX when I got it. I've added a set of custom pedals ($129) which fixed the problem so the throttle is in a good position, a small price to pay. :)
