I’m glad the afternoon glare was fixed quickly, because this turned out to be a great video. Loved watching the freeway evolve from a tight elevated structure into a wide open freeway through the suburbs, with some nice stack interchanges thrown in there. Great soundtrack too.

I understand how some people find elevated freeways ugly but I find them absolutely fascinating. They are some of the coolest infrastructure around and I hope they stay around for a while before some wants to build a tunnel instead... Anyways great video I enjoyed the ride!

It'll be interesting to see what happens with this elevated structure. At least from the appearance of it, it appears to be in poor condition, and probably needs to be replaced in the not to distant future. I'd like to see a more modern elevated structure replace it, but who knows. I'm with you, I don't find them ugly either. I watched your Gratiot Video by the way. Nice work. It's nice to see new buildings spring up downtown. Hopefully some of that new development springs some new life into the inner suburbs as well. I actually really like Detroit. I've spent a fair amount of time there because it's so close to Toronto.

Elevated highways are like sex: they’re only good when you’re on top.

QC A-40 is definitely Montreal's busiest highway, well the TCH Main Route portion of course.

As a person who lives in the metropolis of Montréal, I deeply apologize for our outdated road infrastructure. It's an embarrassment to see tourists experience this particular stretch... :(

whatever, it's just a road.

@@AsphaltPlanet1 Yeah but we're gonna need really freshly newly road infrastructure. Like for example, Houston downtown infrastructure is really old and bad that it always have traffic most of the time before this virus even started.

From 1:15 to 1:41 It's a trap ticket zone. Police loves to fish there. if you don't pay attention you won't realize you are in the 50 km/h zone Just 11km/h over and woot woot you get pull over..

4:40 the driving from everyone on the road for the next 10 seconds gave me extreme anxiety

me too to be honest.

The problem its because of the stupid speed limit zone of 70km/h in the metropolitan and when it becomes to 100 km/h zone everybody goes crazy and drive aggressively. Montreal as hazardous highways with short exit and antry lane. That's why i call this autoroute 40 the highway of hell
@AsphaltPlanet14 жыл бұрын
I strongly dislike the 70km/h limits around Quebec for that reason too. There is such a wide speed range on some of those roads. Traffic in one lane might be doing 70, while traffic in the next lane over might be doing 110. Not good.
@Mahoot4 жыл бұрын
Meanwhile in Metropolitan Dallas the speed limits are 70 *MPH* :) [112.654 km/h]

@@Mahoot Aren't some of the express lanes posted at 75 MPH?

There seem to be a lot of bonehead drivers in Montreal. Next time you visit, be careful up there.
