hello there, couple of notes. torque spec for the drain plug is 106 in ibs. secondly, the spec for the transmission is fluid not lv but ulv. there's also one step you forgot to mention (albeit cant not do as the front is disassembled) and that is road test it to get to operating temperature and then undo the fill plug one more time to drain excess. the fill line is for when the fluid is hot, not cold.
@bennieaust Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the info! I have also heard the spec is ULV. in fact I heard so many conflicting things, that that's why I called Ford.
@sammascreel Жыл бұрын
@@bennieaust yeah, I understand. I have the factory Manual for mine, and thats my go to for stuff like this. my best guess if there's a difference in fluid is I have the 6f15 transmission and you have the 6f35 transmission (or what ever is the other transmission the eco sports use). . edit. after some research, we are in a way both right. 1l engine ecosports, which is what I have, comes with the 6f15 transmission which requires ulv the 2l ecosports (I think thats what you said you have) comes with the 6f35 ecosports which requires the lv stuff. its all dependent on which engine/trans setup you have.

interval is 150,000 miles per ford. I did mine @ 40,000 miles and it looked just a dark. Did again at 60,000 miles and was a little dark as you don't get all the fluid out with just a drain and fill as the torque converter has some in it still. I'm at 93,000 miles now and doing it again in a little bit today.... But don't forget the transfer case (pto) and the rear diff.

@@prodbychikko a drain and refill is exactly that. A flush is circulating 100% new fluid in, with a machine or by just removing a cooler line and starting the vehicle to pump the old fluid out. The method with the bad reputation is a flush machine.

Engine looks brand new. Had 24k miles when I bought from a reputable ford dealer one owner trade in. I'm sure ford thought well ahead so you'd have to pay the service team to change your fluid since there's no stick to check.

Thanks! Sometimes it does seem as though they are making things less serviceable. Personally, I like the way a lot of modern service procedures work, but they can be a little less DIY friendly. That’s part of the reason I make these videos.
