2018 Alterra 500 Belt Problem

Can you help with what you did to fix the belt problem? Did you have to replace the clutches. Do you have part numbers?

You got an Arctic Crap too, I've got a 2011 450 that I bought new and been fighting it ever since. I just cant sell it to anyone in good conscience so I keep it around for a spare. My last two have been Honda 500's with no belt. They have been excellent.

Yeah I’ve decided that arctic cat isn’t what it used to be for sure.. I agree.. I’ve always been happy with Honda.. thanks for watching 👍

What's the part numbers? Did you have to buy both clutches?

How much tork did you use

I had a similar problem. It turned out that there was excessive slack on the plates of the second variator. Undress it and see if the plates have worn out!

@@hi-fl6cm first I made a teflon ring but it didn't last long, later I bought the whole element, it's quite cheap

How many mile are on it? Make sure you clean out the vent tubes. My 2018 alterra 500 also burns belts (only 540 miles on it)apparently there is a design flaw on the primary moving face, just ordered a new one, I hope it helps.

I have a 2018 arctic cat alterra 500 rode it for about 700 km and blew the belt I changed it good as new and a week later I blew a second belt I was wondering how much money it is to fix it and after you did fix it was your bike good or did it keep happening

@@conorduke2288 I put over $700 into trying to fix it. Never got better, so I traded it for a Honda.

@@conorduke2288 no the dealership I bought it from quit dealing with Arctic cat so the closest dealership was three hours away. I just traded it in
