Holy shit man... I watched this whole video. Took me back to your WRX vids. (I still daily my phatbotti tuned 16 WRX) Love it. Me personally, I always thought of the S3 as a much nicer STI. Your attention to detail is on point. Your modification to that intake box was mint. Whats the tuning like on that car? Cause if you close your truck too hard on a Subaru, you need a retune.

I dig the new license plate setup 👍 I’ve been looking at the IE and APR intakes for my GTI too.. I think you convinced me IE is the way to go. Super clean custom cut too the way you hid things with the molding at the end looks clean. Can’t wait to hear the sound difference

Nice. I have the same intake on my Mk7 R, although, where i'm from we need intake covered for legal reasons so had to fork out the money for the carbon fibre cover. Shame they don't have a cheaper plain black plastic alternative. The carbon fibre cover costs almost as much as the intake itself!

@@LastHumansGarage really? My bad. I watched the video of you installing it and was thinking it was a well made kit. I beleive GT pumps were the first to create (and consistently) create fully sealed air boxes.. (as you know, majority of the “cold-air” on the market are technically “hot-air” intakes, being open in the engine bay and so close to the turbo)just that I feel that APR are leaders on the market for performance but their products sometimes aren’t as well made/fitment issues and way way way overpriced.

It's not "nice and tight" Mark - since you're working on a German car it would be "guten tight" ;-) Also Ryobi now makes a 1/4" ratchet socket set - the ratchet is actually surprisingly decent for $20 - not really "pro grade" but great for jobs like this....

You would think that they would have just made the clearance the same way you had cut it, just in case you happened to be using their same brand of intercooler. Honestly a huge oversight. It's not like it would be so crazy big of a hole as to cause it to look or perform poorly with a factory intercooler

Can you do an install video of the RS3 grille? “Enthusiast Brands” and the ACC sensor relocation bracket? I’m considering myself. Apparently disconnecting battery first + ACC relocation bracket does NOT trip the sensor but I haven’t done myself. Considering body shop install but eager to hear your take

I see you put the new coolant hose on as it wasn't on the top.... Did the new hose already have the check valve in it? If not, you would have to remove it from the stock one and put it in the new one the same way.

@@LastHumansGarage you should be able to tell... at the end of the hose.. it should be hard and feel like something is there. like the OEM one... I know the APR one doesn't come with it and you have to move your OEM one and put it the same direction

I had this kit on my GTI. I felt like it was too whoosh-whooshy all the time. Too much noise for me. I kept my modded air box with AFE drop-in instead. More of a grunt form the motor than a air compressor sound. Just my opinion
