Great review. I have the 2018 S4 which is pretty much the sedan version of the S5. All the things you highlighted are things I enjoy as well. A couple other details you didn't cover: The heads-up display is great. Crisp with great info when navigating. Navigation in full info setting is very good. I usually stick with Google Maps when I'm traveling, but I love the way this car gives you ample warning of which lanes you should be in well in advance of needing to be there. Interior lighting at night. 20+ colors to choose from with recessed lights all over the cabin. Safety tech! The car will warn you you're about to open your door into traffic. Active braking will caution you and even take over if you get into a bad spot. All said, Audi makes a great car.

I had the 2018 A5 after three B8 A5s. I never really loved the car like my others. I traded it for an S5. LOVE IT!!! The electronics have quirks that I hope they reprogram. It rides great. Runs great. Love the looks! Mine is Tango Red. I found a website to get rid of those horrible rear head restraints for lower profile ones. Much better.

Strong and detailed review, excellent. Camerawork and especially sound are amazing again. How do you get rid of all the wind noise??? The exterior shots while driving are my favorites and how you were able to capture that sunlight just right to illustrate the sideline of this cool car. Also the precise sharpness of the shot of the paddels really impressed me. Funny how Yuri tries to hide in the car to operate the top. Your are not that small, I can still see you :) I am always on the lookout for a shot with Yuri in a cool shirt and cap and you delivered. Nice to mention the trip computer reset button from the Volvo S90 review and how you managed to sneak a watch into a shot.

Great review as always! One thing not mentioned but easily missed if your first current gen Audi.....The top of the large mmi selection knob is also a touch pad for hand writing recognition etc. and works well.

The reason you’d get the round steering wheel is because it comes with a heated function. The flat bottom doesn’t unfortunately. It’s like that in all Audi’s

It took me over 5K miles to get used to the knuckles on the D shaped wheel in my 2018 S3. Now I like it. My hand has been trained to hold it just so with my right hand while my right elbow is planted on the center arm rest.

Great vid as always guys. Having had a 2018 A5, one thing I will say in regards to the backup camera is that you can, in fact, use the 360 camera while using the reverse camera. All you have to do is click the right side tab while on the radar screen and you can then from there select the 360 camera.

you can use the 360 camera whilst backing up or pulling forward, The "+" symbol on the upper right of the screen will bring up the menu and allow you to change the "graphic" to "camera"

Agree with Yuri, those screen-based gauges are just information overload... That's a hasard when driving. Else for the volume knob, it's for the passenger, driver has its steering wheel control to adjust it (13:00).

Fun fact, if you end up upside down, the window frame supports 4x the cars weight, and a rear head support deploys for rear passengers at a certain tip angle. I really really really appreciate that fact Also, i'm 6' 3" and I fit in the rear no joke, with the top up it's a bit tight, but far from in-suffer-able. Top down, I've been in smaller seats in some sedans.

With all honesty I think you guys had more fun in the BMW M 440i especially because of the exhaust. With this one you were more "professional" than wilding out. Plus the 440i was cheaper. So I would prefer that over this.

Agreed - just a shame the 440i doesn't come with the M Performance Power and Sound Kit (exhaust and tune) as a factory option i.e. a M440i. I've got one by the way :)

I just got a 2018 S5 Sportback, it's awesome. And you can use the 360 camera with a backup camera and sensors at the same time :) there is a setting in options for that. The car is almost perfect, but the guy that bought it originally thought that choosing auto parking assist instead of dynamic suspension was a good idea :D Other than that, super recommend!

Yesss Audi, went from the A4 to the SQ5 just a few months ago, I fully optioned it out because there was such a huge driving difference with the Sport Dif even on the SUV, and ya the VW paddles are bad so I swapped mine with big carbon fibre ones, changes the entire look of the interior if you have the carbon fibre interior spec. Awesome review!!

9:17. Great review. Nice to see my own car reviewed by you. In England we can choose to upgrade the wheels to 20" with a different design, which I did and they look much better. I went for a 4 door Sportback, in White with the Red Leather. The Audi Pre Sense doesn't like the UK's tiny roads, as it slams on the brakes for parked cars at the side of the road so I've turned it off, the system in my other car is better, and its a Honda and £30,000 less. The Quattro system is great in snow too, after we got heavy snow in March. The EU Tailights look much better tbh with separate brake lights/ and amber 'dynamic' indicators. It's the best car I've ever owned. Silky smooth power, coupe looks, 4 door practicality and room for 5.
