The Vances Actually...it's sportback version of the A6/S6....the S7 is the sportback version of the A8/S8....Ppl say that all the time but an S5 and an S7 are very different monsters.....no baby situation here....2 different beasts.

Interesting review, however your interior camera position could do with improvement. Would be much nicer if while driving you could position the camera so that viewers can see the interior and dashboard etc., rather than a close-up of you.

I'm coming out of a lease on a 2015 BMW 740I. I have been very happy with this car. In looking at options I was leaning toward the Audi S5 Sportback over a BMW 540i. It would be my mini Panamera. Then I spent some time researching. The S5 is cursed with some turbo lag despite the dual scroll turbo. Remember until this year Audi supercharged this engine, The turbo gets so hot the hood on the S5 gets extra insulation. The BMW engine is seamless and you would never know its turbocharged. My 7 is a rocket ship! Another downside is that Audi sources the engines from Hungary. The Audi is marginally faster but I think the BMW will get better real world mileage. If you want the heads up display (which is great and used all the time on my 7) you have to get the Prestige Package, You can get one on the BMW at a less expensive price point. The Audi Dynamic Dash is interesting but the Audi's smaller aux screen is not a touch screen or and does not allow a dual screen unlike the larger BMW screen. Yes I use dual screen all the time. I've not found a S5 that has the Traffic Jam Assist which would be awesome to have. The Audi does not have a park hold button like the BMW and that comes in handy without the Traffic Jam Assist. The Audi seats in the S5 have a nice massage feature but are not all that comfortable compared to the BMW sport seats. I think the S5 interior is a bit busy and there is no cover over the cup holders that are placed too far forward to use with a tall cup. The back seat in the Audi has limited headroom and my son does not fit. I got the 7 only because my son did not fit in the older version of the 5. Most of the time I think the S5 is the better looking car but there is no mistaking the 5 for a BMW. Last for now but not the least Audi's lease rates are not very good. You can get a BMW with a significantly higher MSRP for the same lease rate Audi wants. Bottom line for me is that while the S5 Sportback is a great car (and I'd love to have the hatch) the BMW is a better overall car and, dare I even use the word, a better value. And for the Benz fans yes I looked at the E400. Another great car (I had 3 E350 Sports before this 7 and that should tell you much) but it is not the technological equal of the BMW and not as much fun.

The 2018 S5's have a massive intercooler!! I drive it hard in 95+ degree temps over summer, and the temp gauge does not move much. I had a 650i XDrive, great engine - but the interior is so dated and frumpy compared to the S5. Get the Sportback loaded including the Milano Leather Seats w/cooling. The would not look out of place in a $200k car. Brilliant car - love mine, have the Sportback in Green - folks drool over this car on the road. And have only seen 2 others in close to a year of driving. So, exclusive. BMW's are as common as a Chevy Sedan. BMW's have always been overrated. Falling further behind Audi and Benz YOY. Interior designs are 10-12+ years old now. Volvo in my opinion has now bumped off BMW in the BIG 3 European Car segment when it comes to a great, everyday lux/sports car for fair money. Sure the M-cars are still OK, but overpriced and not what they used to be. Audi is #1 right now - and with more RS cars coming to USA, will hold solid. Love my S5 Sportback!! Get one, great choice for under $70k all-in - damn close though at $68,800. Well worth.

Like the review, but it's a legit 3.0L, not 2.9L - that's in the 450hp RS5. I have a S5 Sportback - all options + RENN Chip. The S5 is under-rated at 354, several dyno's by others it's closer to 380-400hp. And TQ even higher. The RENN Chip adds 66 hp on it's dial factory set at 5. Set higher, my understanding is 80++ is possible. Mine is on 7. 0-60 comes in the 3.6-3.8 sec. range consistently. WITHOUT launch control. So, at the end of the day, very few cars at any price can run with the new S5. Save you're $15k, RS5 is great, but S5 is plenty good with upgrades coming to market that will get this car to 550-600hp if you wanted that. BMW 340/440i, which I test drove, is a joke compared to this, and as nice as the C43 was - the Audi feels like a more complete, better package - and easily as quick/quicker. Love mine - 10+ yr car prob. Car has ZERO faults. And the B&O 755 watt - 19 Speaker audio and Torque Vectoring Rear Diff ... bravo Audi - smile on my grill everytime I drive it. Also got CAVO Wheels and in Gotland Green. Warm weather package with the Milano Leather and cooled seats are very lux with good sporty feel. Leather is thick and smells unreal. Like an Audi. Go 4-RINGS!!!

Spend less time talking with the camera on you and more time talking with the camera actually on the vehicle. If you are going to do a car review then REVIEW the car. Out of the 11 minutes or so, you spent filming this video, we may saw 50 secs worth of footage inside the vehicle. Never seen the trunk space, or went over the info system really.
