EliteAlex I agree he really deserved it big time. I almost want to say it is victory Ricciardo style because he made few great moves and was at the right place at the right time and took total advantage of that. What stroke me tho was the maturity in this race he has shown. It wasn't like Mexico last year where he was eager to show everyone how much of advantage he can have over rest of field and was risking a lot. Here it was Hamilton/Vettel like control. He kept them Ferraris 5 seconds behind all the time and just didn't let them come close till the end. Absolute 10/10 driving from young Verstappen this weekend.
@kevinparadisdrummer6 жыл бұрын
Can't understand all these people saying that Max is the same and that suddenly all the haters are quiet... Look at his race, no useless risk, no suicidal overtake. Just agressive enough during the start, and not too much, no crashes. No extreme attack that would have destroyed the tyre. Clever race. He has improved, and this win is well deserved after such a drive. Amazing race, good driving from Kimi too, and what a move from Vettel on Hamilton... To my opinion, best race so far, even if it was kind of sad that the 2 Mercedes were not able to fight until the end.
@Nunyabusiness7246 жыл бұрын
He has literally said in interviews though that he has not changed his driving whatsoever, and that he's doing nothing different than in the first couple of races. I would argue that he was just kind of unlucky that he made a couple mistakes in close succession, causing him to receive a ton of criticism regarding his driving style all of a sudden, even though he has been racing like this in every season.
@karanick016greece26 жыл бұрын
Kévin Paradis Well the only "flaws" I see in Verstappen is that he feels like if someone passes him it's the end of the world and that he is too impatient. He has undeniable talent but he has to know when to attack and when to let other cars pass him. Oh and by the way today he didn't have to overtake anyone except from the start or play defense so of course he couldn't fuck up his race. Other than that yeah he did a pretty good job managing his race lead.

As a Max Verstappen fan I also must be honest to mention that I was pleasantly surprised when he had to retire the car. It was a fair win for Max. Furthermore kuddo's for team Haas and team Sauber, it's great to see that teams are closing in to each other, this makes it much more exiting to watch.

@SadMarinersFan6 жыл бұрын
Lennard Blaak can't believe people still blame Honda. It is obvious with the switch to Renault that the majority if McLarens problems were down to the McLaren chassis, not the Honda engine.
@draconicdusk59116 жыл бұрын
Andrew Behrend, have to agree with you there. The Honda engine is still a little unreliable, but so is the Renault engine. The Honda engine is decently fast, still not top notch, but i think by 2021 it'll be one of the best on the grid. Red Bull are looking at the long term rather than short term. I mean, 2 years of these engines versus at least 4 years of the next gen of engines? Maybe more than 4 years? Good idea if you ask me. And Renault have a history of struggling with regulation changes.

Double merc DNF, both Ferraris on the podium, and Ferrari regains P1 in WDC and WCC...absolutely perfect. The only thing that could've made this race even more perfect would've been a Ferrari 1-2 which wasn't far off. More races like this please!

Let's go to Silverstone now, shall we? Hotter than Spielberg, higher degredation than Spielberg, and we all know who can do better in that situation. Goodbye Mercedes' tyres and welcome Ferrari's tyres.

welcome Ferrari's tyres? you mean the same one that blew on both Kimi and Sebastians car at the end of last years race at Silverstone?
@stromcek1596 жыл бұрын
Alisa Kroes ... Thing is that merc had car setup for colder track temp this race so they destroyed their tyres when pushed. Ferrari had bad setup last year at Silverstone. Predict something based on past while the conditions are everchanging is not going to be accurate prediction :). Merc is strong at Silverstone as it is their home race. Would be nice if anybody can also pull of something strong at Silverstone. Enjoy racing, have respect and have fun.

dejan rasovic There is a debate out now, that Renault is giving Red Bull a worse version of their new spec engine, while the rules have set that a manufactor have to send out the same enginge to every 3rd party company, doesnt matter if there exists a homemade Team like Scuderia Ferrari, or Mercedes AMG. Most of the time all the cars may have the same top speed, but if a ferrari has a better chassis than sauber for example they probably have more corner exit traction, better torgue as an result and thats the reason why they look "faster". And on the other side it depends on the setup as a reason of different Top Speed. Otherwise Mercedes shouldnt have a problem on giving Red Bull for example their engine if it is even worse.
