Lol 2 months ago I was looking for this vid, same exact model Sportline Couldnt find any 530 videos so Me and my boys jus winged it & basically did exactly as u Lol I ended up using Mobil Oil on my g30 anyways Nice vid 💯

Thanks for the vid, I just did my 1st change at 5000 miles, even though the dealer includes the 1st three ~ every 10,000 miles. I used valvoline 0w20 LL-17FE+ standard. I do have to say, I found the spin-on filter cap a pain in the ass to line up properly. Other than that, its a snap. Oh and be careful that the old crush washer comes off the drain, mine was stuck up there ! Could be something easy to overlook ! :)

Congrats 🍾. G30 gang. Lol. But yes the OFH CAP is kinda weird. I’m still using 5w-30 cause the ow20 looked to thin. But might switch cause I’m getting 27mpg. Maybe with 0w20 I can get a couple more miles. I have free oil changes with my PROTECT MY CAR warranty. But I live about hour from dealership. So I don’t bother. But Preciate the support. If you wanna be part of the mafia. You know what to do 😉

0w20 is good for the winter here in scandinavia -35 celsius 5w30 for summer

Hey man, I think you're using the wrong oil for your car. The 2018 BMW 530i, or any BMW gasoline engine for that matter, requires an oil that is BMW LL-01 approved. This is because Dexos oil have additives in it that will clog the European catalytic converters. BMW LL-01 oil have certain additives that are designed to work with European catalytic converters chemistry.

@@BimmerMafia just get whatever oil that says BMW LL-01 approved on the back. The bottle usually says “European” formula on it. Catalytic converters are super expensive. You should switch it out sooner than later brotha

I did the same placing the oil filter first when I changed the oil on my 23 G82 M4. It’s almost impossible to put in place if it is placed in the housing first.

What’s up. You have to remove all plastics undercar from right side. It’s about where the passenger front seat is. Mounted to chassis. I’ll try make a video soon. But hope that helps

I’ve stopped using castrol. And 5w30-40 I’m currently using pennzoil platinum 0w-20

@@BimmerMafia Is there any reason why you are not using Castrol or 5w30-40? My BMW G31 530i now has 114,000 km and I'm a little afraid to pour in 0w20 viscosity oil, but I'm thinking of pouring in 5w30 or 5w40, but that it meets BMW conditions LL04 and others.

@@AdamHR11 main reason is the viscosity oil 0w20 was designed/engineered for it. Also I noticed better efficiency. I averaged about 1-1.5 miles more mpg each gallon. In comfort mode. Eco will save you more if your easy with acceleration .. I have 63k miles and thank god haven’t had any issues at all with car.

@@AdamHR11 5w30 -40 isn’t Gonna disrupt nothing. Idk about long term .. well nobody does because these engines are new tech. At first I thought 0w-20 was way to thin oil. But after using it. I’ll most likely stay with it. Unless I hear ticking or something from thin oil.
