I just bought a '21 F750GS (found one with 1,700 miles!) in small part due to Scott's great review - and it is not disappointing. Scott is spot on, and I can't tell that the brakes aren't 100% at initiation.

I love this bike. I’m 5’1” and was able to sit on one today with the factory low suspension and extra low seat. It felt great and had me sitting upright with a comfortable reach to the bars and enough foot on the ground to feel comfortable. I’m accustomed to having only one foot down and a butt scoot. I really want one but with the features we want it becomes a pretty expensive bike - $13,590. By far the most expensive bike I’m considering buying for my next ride. I just don’t know whether I can afford to lay out that much for just two wheels. I’ve only owned Japanese bikes until now and they have all been excellent. This time I’m thinking about getting a bike from somewhere else. We’ll see …

Great review, thank you! What is the Communication System on your helmet? Which would you recommend for communication between rider and passenger for touring? On another note, can you share the go pro and mount that you have on your helmet?

I ride a 2018 Tiger 800 which I love, but I have to say, the BMW TFT is streets ahead. My display looks a (little) bit like it when it's dark but normally it automatically reverts to the bright setting which isn't nearly as nice. Not sure I like the nav mounting so low down though...I suppose the lack of a taller screen means it can't go above the clocks... Great review.

Hi Gary, thank you! Yes, this is the first BMW Adventure bike that I'd consider buying...if I was an adventure guy. Next week Wednesday I will ride the new 1250 GS and do a review of it. I'm really looking forward to riding it, with more torque then the KTM Super Adventure, so now it is the new torque monster in the adventure group. I wonder how it will feel.

Yes, the 750 is a very good bike. I actually asked my local BMW dealership about the sales numbers of the 750 GS vs. the 850 GS and they sell about 4 750's to 1 850. So the 750 is a very popular bike for a good reason.

thanks for that comprehensive review sir. im planning to buy a new bike within this year...and im considering ducati monster 797 however im having some doubts now because of the availability of the helpful electronics in other bikes esp this 750 gs... do you think this is a wiser choice (750 gs)? btw im a returning bike rider... thanks in advance for your advise.
@NothingToProve4 жыл бұрын
Hi Rex, you're welcome :) Hmm...these are two totally different bikes, one a naked and the other adventure. What would be more important is to ask yourself if you want a naked bike or an adventure bike. There are nakeds that have good electronics too and most middleweight nakeds are a lot lighter than middleweight adventure bikes. In this case with these two bikes, the BMW is about 30kg heavier than the 797. So weight might also be another factor in what you are considering. There are sooooo many bikes, which sometimes makes it a little confusing...at least for me...and you might just want to sit back and take a look at other naked and adventure bikes and you just might find one you didn't expect to find. Ride safe, Scott

NothingToProve One more time thank you for your review it definitely helped me with my choice, that will be the 750 😀 I have just one more question, do you think that the 850s wind screen is a plus? I’m considering it because it is slightly higher, but I’m not quite sure if it will be a noticed difference... And good job! 😀👍

Thanks for your review. I especially liked the way you talk about the feeling you have on the bike. In general, I'm very negative about the new middle weight BMWs due to the astronomical price with the extras, the high weight of 229 kilos and 55kw on a bike with over 800cc, and I think BMW is going to suffer for this, even more so when the new KTMs hit the sales rooms. I think, however, that it seems to be a very nice commuter, lazy weekend tourer kind of bike. Personally, I'd get a tracer 700 with a cartridge kit for the forks and possibly upgrade the brake hoses and pads. More bang for your buck, I think.

Thanks for the video, I'm try to decide whether to buy the 750GS or the KTM 790 Adventure, I'm still struggling. I'm torn between the lighter KTM and off road ability and the BMWs better road manners and looks.
@NothingToProve3 жыл бұрын
Yea that's a problem most have with an ADV. How much am I really riding off-road. 10% off is usually the "normal" ADV guy and then it's really not off-road but light trail/two track riding and that is why BMW have focused on the on-road portion more than off-road. ride safe, Scott

@@NothingToProve I decided on a Suzuki V-strom 650XT. I already have a KTM 1290 SAS with all the electronics and RE Himalayan for trail riding. The Suzuki had a nice smooth engine, light weight and good size fuel tank for commuting 👍.

gas lower is always better for keeping weight low. - imo. but 850gs is a jump in price. a higher seat is available; being a bit taller.

Hello NTP a-great video -quick question -did the F750GS have enough power or did you think it was lacking in power? Would it keep someone interested for a long time?
@NothingToProve5 жыл бұрын
Hi Mike, thanks for the compliment. Yes, I loved it, in fact I told my wife that this is the first BMW that I would actually buy cause it is one of those do all and do it well bikes that one can keep for a long time. And, yes, it was just enough power to put a smile on your face when you open up the throttle. Just FYI, the only difference between the 750 GS motor and 850 GS motor is the engine mapping. So if the 750 is not enough power for you...hint, hint, the key word here is mapping...but you did not hear that from me. :)

What about the wind when riding on the highway?
@NothingToProve5 жыл бұрын
It felt more like a naked bike rather than an adventure bike as far as that is concerned..."I was shocked as to how much wind I got"...is what I stated in the video. So if that is a concern for you, then you might want to get a bigger wind screen or go to the 850 which comes with a taller wind screen.

to give me more leg room, the bike is thin so bringing it up another 20mm, would still be able to flatfoot it.

Hi nice review; thanks; i love that bike but only 2 major cons on that bike : ridiculous small useless windscreen & normal front forks; at that selling price point : BMW should have included a real ajustable large windscreen similar to those on Tiger 800 & BMW should have geared it with inverted front forks; no thumbs up for those 2 cons : 2 thumbs down BMW; but still a very interesting road oriented adventure motorcycle; Live long, Ride safe & Prosper 🖖🏻

@NothingToProve Жыл бұрын
Well, the 660 is a lot lighter (over 20kg) but about the same in power but the 660 has less tech. So it really depends on what you are looking for in a bike. More tech, then BMW, lighter more sporty then Triumph. take care, Scott

Looks are subjective, right? I don't like the looks of asymmetrical headlights. BMW styling now days with the sharp angles and with bits that look like they were stuck on where ever leaves me uninspired. Good bikes with good features but BMW please don't be afraid to use something other than a ruler to design bikes.
