What symptoms you were having with it?

It initially started with misfire which caused it to idle poorly and shook quite a lot. Similar to a bad spark plug. The issue went away but the head gasket went out which caused the coolant to leak into the cylinder. This caused white smoke (vapor) to come out the tailpipe. Also found a crack on cylinder head. Got all of this fixed but got rid of the vehicle a few weeks after. Ford really dropped the ball with this engine.. I’ve met many people who have had the same issue with their Escapes and Fusions (Ford Fusion uses the same engine)

How did you get the connector off

I had to use a flathead screwdriver to gently raise the clip on the connector

Wow, I can’t believe I let this video go without an update. Fortunately this fixed my problem, but I’ve heard from mechanics that everyone’s had the same luck. Some have had to replace the entire engine due to the amount of internal engine damage that can be related to this code. We actually got rid of the vehicle about few months ago after putting another 20k miles on it.

@djvik940 I replaced ours as well.. fixed the problem.. but as good as a car it is, it definitely wasn't built to last.. trying to trade ours in soon.
