As an owner of a 2018 Elantra GT, this review is pretty spot on. It has amazing practicality, style, and updated tech. I leave mine on a regular drive, "sport mode" feels weird to me. Fuel economy has been so-so.

Another great review, I think this car is perfect for someone especially college or delivery drivers where economy and comfort are paramount. Hyundai is hitting it out the park with their models lately. A viable option to domestic and Japanese rivals. I think once my oldest turns 18 a great graduation gift 😎

I have a 2018 GT, and the first car I ever bought because of color...the Electric Blue caught my eye...then I drove it! Your review is spot on! A fun car to drive, and I have owned some fun cars...Mustang, Camaro...The Elantra GT handles all roads quite well, visibility is great and seats are comfy for short trips.

Great review! My brother and I have a 2019 Elantra Sedan and a 2019 Elantra GT Hatchback. The sedan gets better fuel economy 38hwy, 32city, whereas the GT gets around 34hwy, 28city. The sedan is smoother on nice roads until I hit a small bump, but the GT is more fun to drive and much more stable around corners. The GT accelerates quicker, and the transmission on the sedan is more comfort-oriented versus the GT. I love them both because they've been very reliable, share the same oil/oil filter/wiper blades/oil plug+gasket/taillight bulbs/turn signal front and rear/ etc.
@100RentalCars5 жыл бұрын
Thanks AK! And well said. I've driven both and I agree with your assessment. For me, I'd rent the GT (because it's more fun to drive), but buy the sedan (because it's much more practical). That's just me though. How about you?
@thecentralman5 жыл бұрын
@@100RentalCars True, looks like I bought the cars that you drove, with the same exact trims (2019 Elantra SEL, 2019 Elantra GT Base 2.0)/interior color. The only difference is the exterior color (black and gray). My previous car was a 2017 Chevy Cruze LT (a common rental car). It looks like I have a similar taste in cars with you (compact, cheap, reliable, practical). Also, I'm Korean-born (quite familiar with the QM6 that you reviewed and Jeju Island) I always enjoy your reviews and hope to see a review on a 2020 Hyundai Veloster Base, 2020 Nissan Versa, and maybe the Hyundai Ioniq/Kia Niro if they're available as rentals and compare them with your Prius.

A fun fact is that this used to be an Avis/Budget car before Enterprise got it.
@100RentalCars5 жыл бұрын
No way! I had no idea the companies shared cars. I figured Enterprise just purchased their vehicles direct and then sold them. Good to know!
@disneyfan90995 жыл бұрын
100 Rental Cars Yeah recently Enterprise got a lot of used Elantra’s and Elantra’s GTs that Avis/Budget used to rent out. That’s why this car has such low mileage for it being a 2018.

Happy Easter! My Kis Soul has ducting under the driver seat for air to the back.If you check by looking under the seat from the back, this car may have it as well. I've been owning and driving Kias for 11 years now.This is the first car brand I've owned that performs as advertised, and doesn't break.

What year is your Soul? I've been looking and looking for an 2019 on the rental car lot and I can't find one. I really hope I get a chance to drive one soon. And I agree, KIA is making great cars now. I'd buy another one given the chance (we own a Kia Sedona right now).

@@100RentalCars My Soul is a ' 16, Alien Green II.It's the mid trim . The new ones are just coming out, there have been changes for the good Wheelbase is up 2.2 inches adding 5 cubic feet to trunk. The 1.6 L now gets a turbo.Without the turbo, you could outrun it. There have been lots of positive changes, and a lower spec is still well priced. Btw- my Soul with the 2.0 L, no turbo gets 33 mpg on highway cruising. I enjoy your work!

In my opinion, the previous-generation Elantra GT (2012-17) was not a very good value, as it didn't include a lot of standard equipment, and got very expensive as you added equipment... boy did that change with the new (2018+) Elantra GT... it's one of the better values in its class. :)

I watch some big channels like Doug Demuro but I think your reviews are actually better than his... you have a much more soothing review voice and you review cars that the everyman can own.

Great review! Do you happen to know if the front passenger seatback folds flat, to give a longer cargo space for skis or other long items. And how was the ride? The regular Elantra sedan I recently rented was very softly sprung, had a great ride, but wasn't a very good handler. Thanks and happy Easter and Passover

My Prius? It does fine in the snow. I've driven it through a couple of really bad storms and I didn't have any problems at all. It also starts up really well in the cold, because FIRST the electric engine starts up and then, after a bit, the gas engine kicks in. It even start up right away in the middle of the polar vortex we had a few months ago. Anyway, which FWD cars are you looking at?
