Will newer, higher tech models coming from all over the globe every year, the Sonata has been consistently trying to prove itself every single time. Don’t know if you ever followed up with the mid-year refresh on this model but my 2018 Hyundai Sonata Limited 2.0T+ with the top of the line Ultimate tech package, and man is it ever so sweet! I got the panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, turbo boost, rear window shades and a load of added safety features! Also since it is the Turbo, I got the carbon interior accents instead of the striped, black leather racing seats with the blue pinstripe and the d-sport steering wheel. Really very nice touches!! LOVE my sexy little silver Sonata ♥️

Thanks Bobby for making this video. I think you gave a more honest review of this car, much better than others who really just seem to be their opinions rather than the facts about the car. Me and my wife just bought a 2018 Sonata SE model 3 weeks ago and we love it. Traded in a 2012 Chrysler 200 limited for the Sonata and we couldn't be happier. We love the refresh look of the 2018 and the 2.4 litre seems to have plenty of pep. Maybe I'll do my own review of my own car on my channel in the near future thanks to you and your great review. As an owner of a 2016 Sonata Limited (Ultimate Package) I'm sad to see they cut some cost by getting rid of the panoramic sunroof (no longer offered at all), driver's seat map pocket and plastic covers for the trunk handles. Overall a good update though.

Starman998 and there isn't any leather stitching on the dash or doors either, my 15 ultimate has way more stitching than this. Looks very bland and plain. 15-17 is way classier looking in my opinion

They updated this model mid year and gave back the panoramic sunroof as an option, I know because I have one. A 2018 Hyundai Sonata Limited 2.0T+ with the ultimate tech package. Which tops the top of line of the original release. Panoramic sunroof, rear sun shades, black leather racing seats with blue pinstripe, d-sport steering wheel, 18” tires, led lights all around, better sport suspension & handling. Just a really sexy little sleek car, especially for a mid-sized sedan. Seriously love my Sonata ♥️

Actually narrower tires reduce road noise a bit. I know what you're saying though. Eventually you'll need new tires so maybe upgrade then. I have a feeling Hyundai had a strong goal to eliminate road noise starting in 2015 with the Sonata Eco, which didn't have a sunroof option and still doesn't even in 2018. And trust me this is one quiet vehicle on the highway and I've had it up to 80MPH and was quite surprised with how quiet it was.

Just got a Sonata Sport with low mileage for$10k in excellent condition with most options. Really pleased with the ride quality and safety features. Nice looking car with a luxury feel without spending a lot of money 👍💯

According to Hyundai, it was to save weight. I miss the panoramic roof too personally. It always made the car look like it wasn't bald in some case lol

I've seen so many cars in the shop at work for the panoramic sunroof. It's terrible. It seems to have a habit of creaking and malfunctioning, as well as a several cases of the roof shattering.

This. Car. Is. SEXY. Exterior is so much better than all precious Sonatas. Thinking about getting one. Would love a more in depth with the technology. Have never owned a sonata. How does blind spot monitoring work? Blind spot detection? How does the car alert you? Does the limited trim have the FOLDING power side mirrors when you park? I saw in the video an option on the trip computer panel for "auto unlock," what is that...does the car auto unlock when you walk away? That's a neat feature in newer Hondas so wondering if it's the same. Id love to see a demo of blue link technology in action -> remote unlock and lock, remote start engine feature, remotely setting the temperature, etc. I always buy warranties with other cars, would be nice to get the standard 10yr/100,000 powertrain warranty.

Carlos Rodriguez I will definitely try to do a technology demonstration video at a later point in time for sure. As far as the auto unlock feature it's basically the system that unlocks the doors when you put the car in park.

Great review, Bobby! You covered everything perfectly about this newly refreshed 2018 Sonata. The new design is actually really starting to growing on me. The front fascia sort of reminds me of a Veloster Turbo, mixed with a more luxurious Genesis G80. Overall, this refreshed design should bring many consumers to Hyundai dealers. Hyundai did a pretty neat job refreshing this vehicle, and making it seem almost ageless. From one car reviewer to another, keep up the great work! 👍🏽

The 2018 Hyundai Sonata has arrived at the United States and it had changes from the Exterior and Some for the Interior. It competes against the Ford Fusion, Chevrolet Impala, Toyota Camry, Subaru Legacy, Kia Optima, Nissan Maxima, Dodge Charger and Honda Accord.

At 8:52 you state the inside of the door isn't 'super plush'. This and other things in your video kept making me asking, "Will this guy just move on with more important things?" At 14:20 you say it has 'clarified radio for the crispest sound'. Can you just call it what it IS? It's High Definition digital radio, which also gives you additional channels over non-HD radios.

I Have the 2017 Sonata Eco with the 1.6 Turbo. It get the Best Mileage Compared to the 2.4 and the 2.0 Turbo. And Because its the Lightest, it still beats the 2.0T with the New 8 speed 0-60, By a couple tenths.

Thanks for the review. While I like the car, I'm disappointed to see that the cost-cutting measures are so obvious. I have a 2009 (my second) Limited, and little things mean a lot. My car has trunk struts, not goosenecks, two map pockets in back, and a damped and felt-lined glove box. Those little things add up to a more premium feel (for its day), so, when a highway fenderbender totaled the first one, I bought another that was very similar. Still, I'll consider this for the next time.

When is Hyundai/Infinity coming out with an update for the flawed radio in the 2018 Hyundai Sonata Limited 2.0T? The treble control doesn't work for the radio, not just in my car, but in ALL 2018 Sonata Limited 2.0Ts! The slider moves from -10 to +10, but there is no change in the high frequency sound, like there should be! The bass and midrange controls work fine, even though I would prefer the midrange center frequency to be higher, say 3kHz, it is too low in frequency now to do any good! I can't believe they haven't changed the midrange center frequency since the 2012... I had one of them, till it was rear ended by an 18 year-old girl, and they still kept the same center frequency for the midrange! The midrange frequency should alter basically the voice frequencies! However, my main issue is with the treble control not working at all! Infinity where is your quality control? Do you try out your products before you release them? Come on, get me an update so my radio will sound like it should! I'll bet there is no issue with treble control for the radio in the 2018 HONDA ACCORD! Show less REPLY J Trager Add a public reply... The 2011-2014 was a good looking car, but the ride quality is better in the 2018-2019. The car is more planted on the road , and there is not all the noises inside the cabin , as my 2014 seemed to have! Thanks!

conceptcs the Elantra is more reliable since it has port injection. Plus you can still get most of the same features on the Elantra. If you don't need the extra space in the back seat, I would go with the Elantra.

The 2015 through 2017 was definitely not considered a success which is why they gave it such a major redesign rather than just a facelift for 2018. I was disappointed with the last Generations cheap hard plastic doors and humdrum interior which definitely reminded you that you were driving a Hyundai and not a Camry or Accord. The corporate cousin to the Hyundai Sonata is the Kia Optima which I felt had a much more premium feel. Is ass hole is obviously a Salesman talking this car up. I'm sure I will come across one of these redesign sonatas in the Enterprise or or Avis Rental fleets and I will be interested to see if it really has been improved.. has the owner of a Camry with just south of 400k as well as a Camry with just north of only 9k I can tell you that fit and finish as well as qualities of the materials used make a dramatic difference in longevity of the car.

I had a 2014 model, but it drove like shit compared to my 2017. The 2017 is quiet, very smooth, and stable. It feels like a more expensive German vehicle going down the road. Feels pretty similar, albeit smoother compared to my older 2009 5 series as far as the stability and solidity feels.

It just gives the car a quieter ride. You can buy an aftermarket sunroof with a lifetime warranty for around $1,300. Tell your bank you're buying the car for $1,300 more than what the dealer wants and have the dealer write YOU a check for $1,300 when the deal closes then go buy a sunroof! DO NOT tell the bank what you're doing. If you're paying too much for the car the bank may tell you you're going over the 'loan to value ratio' and you may be out of luck. Simply ask them what their calculated 'value' is. Be sure to tell them all of the options on the car to maximize the value. Or just put it on a credit card. :)

Very first observation I made of this redesign is copycat. It seems that these car manufacturers have all adopted cheating - stealing features here and there..., from everybody. External design is the most stolen idea. In this Sonata, I see Toyota Avalon, Ford Fusion, and Infinity Q50 front ends. I think the rear end was copied from Kia. Come on, Hyundai!

The reason Hyundai doesn't use them as much is because the Velosters and Sonatas had so many recalls on the panoramic roofs. Haven't heard anything from KIa's and Genesis.
