One of the few, exciting suvs to drive. Love the SX trim

I like the Sportage. Not perfect, but it looks good and has some nice equipment for the class. My mother bought a ‘97 Sportage when they first came to the US. This new one is about as far from the old one as you can get. I do wish that Kia would figure out how to get better mpg. I had a burnt orange (loved that color) 2011 EX for a while but traded it due to the less then stellar mpg. It felt like I was always out of gas. Great review Nolan!
@PrimeAutotainment6 жыл бұрын
That’s cool, those 97s were something else! I agree with the MPG too...it gets pretty low and that stinks (the feeling of always being out of gas lol) thanks for the support!

Sportage has really come along way. Really need the top trim to appreciate it. Great review! Was that a knuckle crack???

Yeah it definitely has! I appreciate it! Haha...what part of the video you talking about. It probably was, I got some hands in rough shape!

Great review. I feel like they need to add some more safety and luxury features. Also, the powertrain needs an upgrade to the newer 8 speed auto to hopefully improve fuel economy.
@PrimeAutotainment6 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I agree, overall a pretty good value but could be better with that stuff. It would definitely be nice to have the 8 speed to help MPG...I was shocked by those but it’s nice to have the power

Great review as usual, love your detailed reviews Nolan. Btw, would you consider purchasing this vehicle for your own personal use? Looking forward to future reviews. 👍🏻
@PrimeAutotainment6 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much, I appreciate that. I would definitely consider it, especially because it has the quicker engine option. Ultimately I probably wouldn’t get it because of lower MPGs and less space than most but still I think I’d have to consider it

07:27, eesh. My old 2013 Escape got between 26-28 average fairly regularly. My 2011 V6 4X4 Ranger gets 18 (fully loaded with construction stuff most days). So 21 seems very low... you a lead foot driver Nolan? Ha ha.
@PrimeAutotainment6 жыл бұрын
Haha man that’s for real! I even do a lot of highway driving. It was rated like 20 city and 23 highway, pretty rough. That’s amazing you get that with the Ranger...idk how Kia managed those numbers lol
@rustlesee6 жыл бұрын
@@PrimeAutotainment, I actually try with the Ranger to stay off of it as much as possible. I want to see if I can hit 20 (got 19 on the las t round)

Seems like a pretty practical crossover. The color isn't bad but Mazda has a way better red. I'd still pick a CX-3 over this tho. It would be nice if you could give your own opinion at the end of your reviews and list the competitors of the car you're reviewing and which one you would pick. 😁🤙. Keep up the good work 😉
@PrimeAutotainment6 жыл бұрын
I agree on that red, Mazda’s Red awesome. Good point on giving my opinion...I don’t really do that a lot during these videos but I should. Thanks for pointing it out! Thanks for the support!

You seem to be reviewing some of the cars I’ve been most interested in while shopping this year. Keep up the good work!! I always found great interest in the sportage, only in the SX trim, but that’s the trim to get anyways! The front end is “for acquired tastes”, and I will admit the rear falls into that category as well. I’m just not sure about the new generation rear end, such as in the cadenza and new forte. It’s nice, but it just doesn’t speak to me. I prefer the Hyundai’s such as the Elantra sport. But what really got me was the value, the interior, and the sporty engine. Yes, it’s not fuel efficient, but man does it pull. I also really appreciate the LED headlight and rear, and mostly the interior. The interior honestly just screams value for dollar. Everything is pretty nicely finished, and makes sense. I don’t think it’s gonna be a class leader, but those who want a unique looking SUV are sure gonna appreciate it. This is also gonna be a STEAL in the used market soon. 👍🏽 also.. I like the paint.
@PrimeAutotainment6 жыл бұрын
That’s awesome, I’m glad it’s working out that way lol. I completely agree on the Sportage looks, especially the front end, it’s not my favorite. Good point on the value factor too...I feel that it’s pretty under appreciated and underrated for this competitive class. All very well said man and thanks for watching!

@PrimeAutotainment6 жыл бұрын
It’s more fun than most and drives well too! I just looked back and according to the Kia features site the lower trims offer it optional but not standard...at least for 2018
