The BEST car of 2017. Exotic car without the exotic car price. That engine is a jewel and honestly... you shouldn't be shocked Lexus built this car... they built the LFA. That car has one of the worlds best V10 engines and this LC500 has one of the worlds best V8 engines and both that V10 and this V8 sound wicked. Bravo Lexus this car is going down as of one of the best cars money can buy.. and this is the first gen I cant wait to see what this car turns into years from now with version 2.0 The fact that this car is built where they built the LFA is worth the money alone.

Karun Chendrimada the S-Class interior is luxurious, but something about the LC500 interior especially in this color just makes you want to sit and stare at every inch of it. The S-Class is a nice piece of jewelry, but the LC500 is a piece of artwork. Exactly how is the LC500 interior not cohesive and timeless?
@happios
@happios 4 жыл бұрын
Karun Chendrimada my parents have the s class and I own the LC500. The quality on the LC is better for sure. But the s500 is more comfortable, softer, and more suitable for those who put priority on ride comfort. LC500 is more art , design , engagement and quality over comfort. They are both luxurious but the feel of it when you sit in the cabin are very different. In an LC you feel like it's a special car, in a S class it feels like a luxurious car. Lc500 is a more timeless design and futuristic design.

I bought the LC500 without test driving it because of the looks. I don't regret it a bit. The driving is engaging and the speed is good enough for everyday driving. The sound is incredible. I've driven many performance cars from Benz, Porsche, Jaguar, etc... Nothing compares to how special this car is. Those who complain how slow this car is has never driven the car. Once you drive it, you won't care.

Nice review as always. Completely get what you mean on the attention front, new Type R, I had someone on the opposite lane come to a full stop and pull her phone out as she was driving to snap a pic (I wish this was BS). I appreciate the nod she gave me but where she decided to stop and the way she went about it would have been a very bad accident if we were outside of a neighborhood. People need to go to Cars and Coffee more if they want to snap pics and chat, the street isn't the best place. The LC?...would probably have people camping on my lawn just to see it drive off. It's so nice it even makes the corporate Lexus grill look good.

Great review. I bought an LC 500 last November and love it. However, I opted not to get the Performance Package. If you plan to drive this car only on public roads...and in California...the last thing you'll ever want is 21" wheels with virtually no sidewall between the wheel rim and the millions of ruts and potholes in the roads. It would be sheer stupidity to think you'll never hit a pothole 24" in diameter and 6" deep. When that happens, and it will....you're in for a big buck repair or replacement on probably two wheels. The wing certainly isn't necessary to travel on any 65 mph road or less. It's just one more thing to go wrong as is the four wheel steering. You can, and I did get the limited slip differential. All "that other stuff" is really for a track car or for those who think they won't ever get a speeding ticket. Get the right tool for the job is pretty good advice. If you are seriously looking to buy an LC 500, think about the driving you'll be doing. If you really need all the performance options then go for it. Just remember it's just that many more things to go wrong. The bottom line however remains that no matter what you decide, this is one magnificent automobile. For me, it's a LUXURY TOURER which will get me from Point A to Point B in comfort and style. It's got more power than I'll ever need along with Lexus reliability. Again, great review.

Ive seen this car at many tracks. I have one but ive never tracked it. I track my motos tho. Tracking a car seems like racing a dumptruck. LOL I love my car tho. 22 500 Coupe IF/TC with DHP which was the performance pack but for 22 it got a name change. And the suspension is very nice where the 18 and 19 were very harsh riding. They tweaked it for 20 and up. I picked this over a 911, M5, and E63. I know i know its not as fast as any of those but it doesnt matter cause ive roasted everyone i come up with on the street which is all that matters. Its the driver folks. This car behind the wheel of a great driver you get to execute ALL of its performance while not getting into serious trouble on the street.

I can only think of two criticisms of the LC 500: 1. It almost looks too good, it promises a sportier drive than it's able to deliver although it's still plenty fast for normal traffic. 2. The rear seat could just as well have been left out. As another reviewer put it: "It's only suitable for a legless dwarf." Thankfully Lexus is going to fix #1 with the upcoming LC F. Bring it on!
@BrianMakse
@BrianMakse 5 жыл бұрын
1. It does deliver, actually. 2. You could say the same about plenty of other cars. My criticisms are minor and I fondly remember the LC.
@JC130676
@JC130676 5 жыл бұрын
@@BrianMakse I still have to disagree with you. Yes, I know that it's fast - just not as fast as it looks. Its appearance suggests Ferrari / Lamborghini levels of speed and acceleration. It creates expectations which, in all fairness, are probably unrealistic but still might cause a slight disappointment. But like I said, the LC F is on its way and if just half the rumors I've heard are true then it's going to be a beast. As far as the rear seat goes I indeed have the same criticism on other cars. If you can't use it don't bother to put it in, it only adds cost and useless weight to haul around. In any other car these things wouldn't even be worth a shrug but in a vehicle as fine as this these minor shortcomings are more noticeable. Still, if someone were to approach me and ask "Would you like to have this LC 500?" my first response would be "Who do I have to kill?"

@@BrianMakse Well it's a matter of opinion then and we'll just have to agree to disagree. Maybe it's just because I prefer my car to be faster than it looks instead of the other way around. That's one of the reasons why I like my GS so much.

Hi. I like this car a lot but not enough to buy it. It appears to have fallen between two stools. It's neither a true sports car ( too heavy ) nor a true GT ( low on torque if high on H.P. ). I've test driven both versions and although leaned towards the petrol version neither really captured my imagination. Not sure how those looks will stand the test of time unlike the RC-F which ( to my eyes ) has more classical sports car lines ( if a little bloated ). I'd prefer the RC-F which has a similar high revving 5.0l engine and costs a lot less than the LC. Enjoyed the video, perhaps you'll do a comparison between the LC500 and the RC-F. Thanks.

So you've owned a Lexus? Have you sold yours recently? I know the ansewers. What specifically did another reviewer say that convinced you they know what the industry standard's are. Furthermore why did you agree mindlessly without 1st hand knowledge if their "opinion" was valid. Besides you"ve never sat in one. Sure as hell will never own one.

I test drove the LC 500 today and I can tell you that for $100k and 4 seats, I was NOT impressed. Why? 1) Poor resale value 2) No sunroof 3) I hate the Lexus computer Automatic Trans shifter because it physically does not move. Also to park, you have to visually find the P button in the console. Then to put it into drive, I can't feel the D, I have to visually see on the dash that I moved it into P and it's a weird movement in which I have to move the lever left then move it down. 4) No Apple Carplay. 5) If you're gonna have 4 seats, my head should not be hitting the back window. PROS: - Aston Martin DB11 looking seats

that laggy paddle shifter makes this car a non-starter for me despite otherwise bringing a lot to the table

www.autotrader.ca/expert/20161208/first-drive-2018-lexus-lc-500-and-lc-500h/My favourite part of this transmission is the upshift - but only in auto mode. When left alone, the gearbox will fire off an upshift with frightening ferocity. I’ve written before about the Lexus transmission’s trait of delaying between the command on the paddle and the resultant change. That tendency is here too. Ask for a shift, and the computer takes its time deciding if it agrees with you before executing your command. Once it decides to act though, the cogs swap very, very rapidly.

Lava Peter Did you know that Autotrader.ca took down that article because their conclusion is unfounded? Everyone else contradicted their assertion. It showed their bias towards Lexus and their overall incompetence.

Too slow and heavy and about $30k more than it should be. The convertible will be eye catching but for 471 HP this car should be faster and that convertible will be slower too.

That flat dash looks as if it came out of any 1960's pick-up truck. Or maybe the dash in the 1950 Tucker. $100k? I'll stick with my AMG.

Let’s do the math on this, shall we? Was this review done on a junket where I accepted business class travel, meals prepared by a Michelin-starred chef, and five star accommodations? No. Did I produce this video review at my own expense? Yes. So, if you think otherwise, please feel free to fornicate with your choice of waterfowl, as the French are apt to say.

Touchie are we? Can't take criticism? Well, as the French say ( without the use of " fowl " language ) if you can't stand the heat, keep out of the kitchen.

Two things. First, the LC500 is brilliant, thus the tone of that piece. Second, in response to the above, are you suggesting that we quit KZbin, then?

What I am saying is, on this occasion, you completely lost your objectivity. It is your objectivity in previous videos which encouraged me to subscribe to your channel and to " ring the bell " too . Hope you can rediscover that objectivity soon!
