That was click bait. It’s actually been 7 months. Follow-up review on my Sportsman now that I have some time on it. I’ve got about 27 hours and 230 miles on it. Here’s a link to my first review when I got it brand new: • 2018 Polaris Sportsman...

How much hash did you smoke before making this video mate? All wheel drive system is very effective where it is needed - rocks, hills and awkward countouring. Headlight is adjustable. Power for a 350kg atv is on tap. I tow 200kg up my steep hills weekly. Foot brake is not to be used as the main brake system.

Use the foot brake weekly, or the master will dry out. The AWD is second to none - best on market.

Put a zap strap around the top of the air intake and and attach it to the fuel line below it. My buddy is a polaris mechanic and said that is the fix polaris came up with. Worked on mine....or some foam tape.

Dealership is trying to sell me a 4 year warranty for around $800. Is it worth it or should I just keep the factory 6 month warranty?

Great videos! How is that cargo box rear seat working for you? Have you ridden with a passenger?
@unclesam8010
@unclesam8010 5 жыл бұрын
I’m really liking the cargo box. It a little big but gives plenty of room for gear on long rides. I have used it for passengers a few times. It’s a comfortable seat, but you do have to pay attention to your speed and terrain as it does really affect how the quad handles.

The battery location is a non issue - the old 500x2 had battery in same position. Better than the rear left wheelwell like my 400HO.

I have the 2014 Sportsman 400 H.O and I must say it's a solid bike and plenty of power. I'm 6'1 235lb athlete and it has no problem taking me up steep hills, through deep mudd pits, water, rocks etc and I haven't had any issues.

How do you stiffen the suspension in the back
@unclesam8010
@unclesam8010 6 жыл бұрын
Jack up the rear end to take the weight off the suspension, then with a shock wrench turn the lower spring seat to the setting you want. I think there’s 5 positions. The front are non adjustable.

I’m confused, that’s all you did was complain about what the 4 wheeler is not. If it’s that bad why did you purchase it in the first place. After 4 minutes and 23 seconds I had to stop watching.

This is a pretty good ATV except for one thing. The throttle feels like crap at the thumb. This could easily be fixed by swapping that annoying fuel injection system for a good carburetor.

Very honest & good review! As a long time owner/user of basically all Top Brand Quads, I can tell you a few things that may help you with the 2018 450 HO. 1) The high beam light being to high can be adjusted. It is probably even higher than normal because of the extra weight from the back cargo box. Also, as you mentioned, there is an override light kit readily available. The reasoning that Polaris gives is for Plows. If both low and high beams are on override, the glare on the low beams bounces off the plow and blinds you. Whatever right? 2) If you need more power, there are a few small things that can be done to increase the HP without much trouble. 3) I use old air boxes from other Bikes/Quads to enclose the battery. Not air tight, I drill air holes to avoid problems...but the addition of protection eliminates battery muck up issues when ridding through mud and water. Just be sure to have big enough air holes (especially in the bottom) to ensure immediate drainage of water! 4) Look at some other reviews on the 4 wheel & auto braking on the 570. People who ride for real don't like it...NOR DO I !!! 5) The rattle between the body plastic and air intake is solved with a piece of old rubber tire tube or even a felt pad for furniture legs with sticky stuff on the back side. All easy fixes! Last but not least. 5) NO WAY CAN YOU BUY A 2018 450 HO FOR $4000. I paid cash for two of them on a cash only deal and they were $4,700 before Tax, license, title, etc.If they were Slightly used or demo models then maybe 4k...before the bull shit charges! I just bought two more of these. Paid cash price + 3 year warrantee's + all the bull shit and it was 15k out the door. Yes, I paid around $3,200 for both extended warrantees, but that's just me! So enjoy your ride and keep up the good stuff!!! P.S. Hope I didn't seem like a no-it-all? I just have a lot of experience in the area.
