2018 Rennsport Reunion--EVERYTHING PORSCHE

The Rennsport Reunion usually happens every 4 years but this year Porsche brought it forward by one year to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the very first 356 made in 1948. This car was on display along with all the other iconic Porsche cars from road cars to many race cars made famous over the decades. On the first day Porsche debuted two new cars, the 911 Speedster based on the 991 chasi and using the GT3 engine. Only 1948 will be made starting in the middle of 2019. Also a very special 935 tribute to the famous Moby Dick 935 was shown. Only 77 of these club racers will be sold. Not made to race but collect and take to the track by one of the 77 people lucky enough to get one. Under the sleek body is a GT2 Rs putting out 700hp. The Price for this car will be over 700,000 Euros. Rennsport is a celebration of everything Porsche and all the famous cars you have ever seen in a book or magazine is there. What an experience.

I was hoping to see Porsche’s “Radnabenmotor”. The ultra-rare and unique 4 wheel drive/4 electric motor car built by Lohner-Porsche in 1899! That is if one even exists, anymore. Thanks Zack. Simply an amazing exhibition of Legendary models.

Thanks for the tour, Zack. I’m probably the only person that cares to ask, but did they have any 914’s at the event (paddock or otherwise)? I’ve always loved, them, since 2 of my buddies in high school had them in 1971!
