2018 SEAT Ateca SUV - FR Spec Test Drive - Would I Buy One??🤔Stavros969

In this weeks video i test drive SEAT's first compact SUV the Ateca. Sharing a lot of it's components and engines with it's sister cars the Volkswagen Tiguan and Skoda Karoq, starting with a 1.0 litre three cylinder turbo petrol developing 113bhp, which is the same power output from it's 1.6 litre diesel.
You can also get a 1.4 litre turbo petrol, and 2.0 litre turbo diesel both developing 148bhp, and it's the diesel engine which is whats powering this SEAT Ateca with 4Drive in today's video.
There is also a 2.0 litre turbo petrol and a 2.0 litre turbo diesel both developing 187bhp. There is no word as yet if there will be a more powerful version coming but i'm pretty sure there will be at some point.

I have a mk2 FR Leon 170bhp standerd mapped to 217bhp. Tons of torque, comes with ipod docks Bluetooth auto Wipers lights auto lock doors etc real good car. The FR models are getting more and more advanced every time they bring out a new 1. Apart from power differences

That would be me, that paint has been on the ground for a couple of years now so I've no idea how it decided to all of a sudden lift of the ground onto the tyre.

Nice, i've watched lots of Ateca reviews, not once have i heard about the touch handle to lock feature. I'll be shopping for a used fr 1.4 or 1.5 in the next few months, going from a 2008 car to a 2018 or 20 i'm expecting lots of ''new to me'' features.

Hi. thank you for the excellent review. i am about got this FR trim with the 19 inch low profile tyres but i am affraid about the road noice and the tough drive. can you please advise if the driving comfort with this 19 inch wheels was ok or you would advise the i get a lower 17 trim Style plus.

Class video but as you say too expensive, a Tiguan R line is 40k (which still is pricey) but abit more elegant. I drive a Mk3 leon FR 2.0 150hp this 3 years and absolutely love it (nice change for your Civic to think about!) The engine, gearbox and handling is great just like the Ateca. I don't know if you noticed the difference between driving modes but in the Leon, the accelerator response and steering stiffness difference between normal and sport is noticeably better. I drove a 3 series recently and I actually couldn't tell any difference between normal and sport mode (granted the 3 series sport + mode is meant to be fun) which I didn't get to try

Just swapped our 2016 1.8tsi FR Leon in for a new 18 2.0tsi FR Ateca with the DSG. The Leon goes a bit better and handles better, but by god the Ateca is no slouch and is a much nicer place to be.

Great review ... BTW - iPhone7, and 7plus, don't have wireless charging. Only the iphone8, 8plus and the X support that. Nice car, but 38k ? way too much !

I changed from a 2017 Tiguan SEL to an new Ateca FR sport. The Ateca is mostly the better car.

Red line at five thousand rpm is about five hundred rpm MORE than most Diesel engines are capable of !

You can get it a lot cheaper if you do away with all wheel drive and go for the 1.4 EcoTSI instead.

You could not charge your phone because Apple could not be bothered to match Samsung with wireless charging I don’t like that my iphone 7 does not have it so if I wanted wireless charging I would have to buy a £3 think to plug into the lighting port.keep up the great videos.

Neo People like them for plugging in their little vacuum cleaners to clean the boot, just thought it was a bit strange not to have one for the back seat passengers too as this is the FR Spec I would have expected to see one.
