We got our hands on a customer's Tiguan R-Line. This fantastic car has plenty of standard spec like the Active Info Display and huge 20" Suzuka alloys!
We compare the 2018 Tiguan R-Line to an older model, and then we do a side-by-side with an Audi Q3. Let us know what you think in the comments below. Would you choose the Q3 over the Tiguan R-Line?

I’ve owned one of these for over a year. I also own a 150bhp. You can get a 180bhp (tuned up same engine). The black pearl is an added extra and looks great when the car is clean and awful when dirty. Not crazy on the white personally. A bit too flashy. Silver is lovely. Those wheels are also an added extra. They cost me €500 extra. The standard r-line comes with ugly 19 inch alloys. That particular car has updated headlamps. They are an extra €500 also. This is a wonderful car, especially with the dsg gearbox. It’s a pleasure to drive and the extras are great. One thing that could be improved is the interior. I think its a little bit cheap in comparison to say a passat. The all black interior is very drab. I opted for cream/black to brighten the car up and its hard to keep but looks that bit better. Overall a great car. Still loving it. Best compact suv on the market.

Just placed an order for an 18 plate 2.0tsi R-Line in white. Far better than the dated Q3 and better looking than the new Karoq although it's a bit more expensive. I'm disappointed though that the VW doesn't come with leather and electric seats as standard on this top spec model. T shirt in black with a white R-Line Tiguan

Hi Dave I just ordered the Tiguan and get delivered in March with 18 reg. Gerard has told me I will be getting a model 2018, but I’m not sure am I getting the VW latest infotainment system in the Tiguan because I really really prefer the newly designed centre screen they put in the new golf.

Hi, thanks for your comment. The Tiguan R-Line comes with the Discover Navigation System (DNS) which is 8" colour touch-screen control system. It features Car-Net online services. If you're unsure about anything, just give us a call on 0151 728 4711 and Gerard will be happy to help.

Definitely the Tiguan. Audi charge so much more here. I don't need a Tiguan as it is more for family. And yes I am vertically challenged. Mum is taller than my Dad who was Jockey sized. Yet still banged his head getting in some cars. He was barely five foot.

I'll be ordering one if these soon. They'll be in Canada in August. I'm so torn between the white and black. Not sure i like the lower black grill on the white. Anyone have any thoughts? Also considering the white interior but concerned it will get dirty over time. Anyone have experience with a white interior?

I think the Tiguan R Line goes best with white to be honest, it helps highlight all the extra details which get lost in the black paint. I'd be steering clear of light interior, sounds like a nightmare to keep clean.

Hi Dave,can you do a colour difference on the Tiguan R between the standard white and the oryx white.I would love it in the white silver but they don’t do it on the Tiguan R.👍

We don't get many Oryx White models coming through, but if we ever get two in the same place at the same time, we definitely will.

Good review lads, The R-Line comes with remote tailgate release as standard. Does that mean you can use your key to open it and have to close it manually? Thanks

It just means you can release the boot with the middle button on the key, it doesn't rise automatically and just unlatches.
