Yes it is. But, on the European and UK market, this is the only LC we get, the LC V8 (or Amazon) is no longer available because of emission regulations. So them calling it a Land Cruiser without differentiating the model is not wrong.
@lovice6 жыл бұрын
That's not the reason for us in Europe not getting the real LC. The real LC also comes with diesel and V6 in other markets. In fact, the V8 models of the real LC aren't even the best seller around the world. It's just Toyota Europe brainwashed us to think the real LC has to be a V8 or called something stupid like Amazon! And now it is brainwashing us with this car. Soon again Europeans and British would automatically think this Prado as the real LC and be laughed by the rest of the world just like how Americans sometimes are laughed at by Europeans... One thing I don't understand is that why professional automotive journalists in Europe don't point this out!

ansaree97 Land Cruiser is a family name for the Toyota’s SUV and 4x4 vehicles. They are divided in series, this started with the 25 series, the first 4x4 from Toyota, then appeared the 40 series like the FJ40 the most popular. After that we have the 70 series also called hardtop which are the most crude and off road capable. Then the 100 series like this Prado and then the 200 series which simply named Land Cruiser or LC wagon. There’s a Lexus version of the Prado called Lx 470 and also a lexus version of the land cruiser wagon called LX 570. So the land cruiser name appear even on pick up trucks like the 79 series. The name was also part used in the FJ Cruiser because it was a kind of tribute to the FJ40 Land Cruiser. Is a complete family of awesome cars.
@lovice6 жыл бұрын
Your explanation is correct, but doesn't stand. First of all, not all Toyota's 4X4 are based on LC name. Only two 4X4s in Toyota's range use LC name, ie. Prado and the real LC. Secondly, just like Range Rover is a line of models under Land Rover's new naming strategy. But, there's only one Range Rover can be called Range Rover without any additional words behind. I mean you can't simply call a Evoque a Range Rover, can you. Evoque is called Evoque. If you've been pretentious, the maximum you can call it is Range Rover Evoque, but definitely not Range Rover! Therefore, unless it's the real LC (eg. 200 and 70), nobody should simply call a Prado a LC. But, they may call it a Prado or a LC Prado.
@humbertorubi49476 жыл бұрын
lovice Well about the name probably it depends on the market you are. Here the land cruiser batch is present in the Prados, the big Land Cruiser 200, the 70’s series (passengers and pick up) and on the old FJ series. All them are land cruisers, but agree with you regarding the 200 series is like the father of all. The original Land Cruiser. Regards!!!
@KingOfBanks6 жыл бұрын
Seems weird at no point was the car's name LC 'PRADO' used, especially since this mid range model was so impressive. You described Landrovers by their proper names in other videos, so why not here? It's a different beast to the L200 Landcruiser.

@rottpung6 жыл бұрын
Probably because the Prado name hasn´t been used by Toyota in Europe. The smaller Land Cruisers (better known as Land Cruiser Prado´s in Africa, Asia, Australia etc.) has always been called Land Cruiser in Europe. Even when the last "real" Land Cruiser, the 200, was officially sold in Europe. Btw., the Land Cruiser 200 was sold as the Land Cruiser V8, at least here in Scandinavia. It was only available with V8 engines here, and the name also told it apart from its smaller siblings. Toyota, amongst some other car manufacturers, uses different names on the same models, depending on which market they are sold.

Pajero is a piece of junk. My workplace used to have Prado's which were faultless for 550,000kms, but they then cheaped out and replaced them with Pajero's which have less interior space, drive worse, less comfortable and less reliable.
@humbertorubi49476 жыл бұрын
Hem57i Hum, hard to figure it out. I really like both the Prado and Pajero. On my appreciation they are very similar in space, but the third row in the pajero are better resolved so I think when not using it this have more space. In the Prado the third row is not always available. I think the seating position is more comfortable in the Pajero but both models are very similar. About the ride the Pajero have a better ride in road due it’s independent suspension. The Prado tent to float a little in the turns. If riding a gravel road the Prado is more comfortable due its body on frame. They are similar but with pros and cons as normal. Now in reliability I think they are even close. Other Mitsubishi products are not always at the level of Toyota, but the Pajero is an exception. They are fully produced in Japan and are really good. I have one and is very solid. I drive it in road and in some serious off-road situations too and zero problems as the 4x4 system is better than the Prados and have way more articulation. Me and a friend of mine use to work in construction projects and sometimes need to use very poor roads and climb very sloped roads and always my pajero works way better that his Prado. And don’t get me wrong, I like both, probably if the pajero is discontinued I will go with the Prado easily. But I like to be objetive and there’s hard to believe someone think the Pajero is that bad you say. Now there’s something important, mine is a Gas V6 engine, not a diesel. The diesel ones are a little slow on my opinion. Cheers!
@Nebs16 жыл бұрын
I'm 6"3. The Pajero seams to have no leg space. Every time I get in the passenger seat I instinctively try to put the seat back but it never moves because it's already all the way back. In the drivers seat my leg seams to be always resting hard up against the door while I have my foot on the accelerator. The right side of my knee tends to get a little sore if I drive for long periods. I live in Right Hand Drive land. The Prado does float. First time I drove it I thought I was driving a boat down the road. After a couple of hundred thousand kilometres in 1 year, the suspension seams to feel less floaty. Not sure If I just got used to it or if the suspension just naturally got 'worn out' and less floaty after lots of use. We drive on rough dirt roads a lot. I noticed on one particular road I would do 40km/h in the Pajero and the entire cars was vibrating, it was uncomfortable and felt like something was going to break. A week later I was driving the same road in the Prado at 60km/h and it felt like I was driving on a cloud. We do very little serious offroading, but we travel long distances on gravel roads so maybe that's why I prefer the Prado. Highway driving is better in the Pajero, but I wouldn't say it's bad in the Prado. The Pajero steers like an old Pickup. Lock to lock is almost 3 rotations. The Prado is 2.5 or whatever most new cars are. First time I drove the Pajero through a roundabout at high speed in the middle of the night I almost drove over the roundabout. I turned quarter rotation while looking to the right like I always did in the Prado, then as I looked forward I see we were heading towards the roundabout rather than around it. A quick jerk to the left fixed it. The extra steering wheel rotation is noticeable in car parks as well. Pajero Dashboard and speedometer is not great to read. Especially at night. The font and colours are not easy to quickly read. Prado dashboard looks fine. The little trip computer in the centre of the dashboard in the Pajero is nice to have. Mitsubishi touch screen works well and has Apple car play. Toyotas system is useless, touchscreen barely works and no apple car play. Pajero looks better by far. Prados are far from a good looking thing. We only have diesels. Both are slow and gutless, but the Pajero seams really loud in a bad way. If it was a V8 I would say that's a plus, but I don't want to hear a 4 cylinder diesel. I guess it depends on what your needs are. There are over 200 people at my work who drive the cars. All the Prado keys disappear off the wall before the Pajero's do. I have even seen people walk out to the carpark with Pajero keys in their hand, see a Prado pull into the carpark they then ask the people getting out of the Prado for their keys and ask them to take the Pajero keys back inside and hang them up. My 2 cents worth anyway.
@humbertorubi49476 жыл бұрын
Hem57i Good! I agree on almost all of your observations. At the end probably is a matter of preferences. Both cars have a different approach and diferentes solutions for the customer.The Pajero don’t fit everybody expectations but for the ones it do is perfect. Both have pros and cons, but my point form the beginning is the pajeros are not bad at all, only different maybe. Thanks for the good chat!

The Land Cruiser looks a hell of a lot better than that hideous Bentayga.

Great video and contents, but a bit too much talking. Would love to see more actions of this new amazing LC Prado !

I don't care how it looks, personally I think it's all right. I would buy an SUV for it's capabilities but that's just me.

"its a tool of a car" its not a posing vehicle, but a doing car" a precision off road tool. now imagine a scenario where ppl spend millions of dollars buying fleets of them to just cruise the boulevard and profile in. The suspension isn't even the best suited for that. ppl like those in power would subsequently allocate alot of tax dollars on road repairs, the sad thing is the tools wouldn't even see a day off road, then again some of neglected areas have neighborhood roads rivalling some of the rocky desert sections seen earlier. welcome to Jamaica, the politicians & their preferred vehicle of choice, this cycle has created a subset of the population who thinks better roads & constant repairs & contracts are good governance. me thinks if they had a vehicle more suited for comfort they wouldn't be so road obsessed, with our gdp & debt cheaper options should be considered, the jdm imported used vehicles for police was a novel idea. the used car lots are full of them yet their supplier couldn't fulfill the order, forcing them to default to brand new models costing 3 times as much per vehicle. Their all the same why not buy them from whatever dealer has them & have a contract mainly for repair etc.

I know this is an extremely capable off-roader but the video didn’t show anything a regular Subaru or any other simple AWD suv couldn’t do... get it and do a real solo off-road test
