We bought H2 Lux had it a year now....and we love it! Replaced my wife’s great but old KIA Rio hatch. Compared to the Rio it’s like the Starship Enterprise, the wife is still learning how to use all the on board kit! I find it very comfortable on a long trip. I own a lovely 2000 Mercedes E240 Wagon, it’s in great condition and is still a fantastic car, but l really enjoy it when I drive the Haval. I think it’s a great looking little SUV and the big 18” alloys fill the wheel arches nicely. Very happy and I think we got a huge amount of bang for our hard earned bucks!

Had a test drive with a sydney rep., i used to be a toyota salesman, so Im familiar with their SUVs, plus we have an in law who has a GXL prado, so fair to say that at 45K vs 80K , even if they say that 0-zero resale value which is far from the truth, Haval still wins. Luxurious in and out..

Haval is pretty new. It's not old enough to have a true resale history. Give it minimal time to build its rep before jumping to bigot speculations, that was also quite rampant on korean cars when they started.

If you dont like Haval or maybe not comfortable with the idea of buying a Chinese branded car yet, then you just dont buy it, nobody is forcing you, at the end of the day its your money and you do you. Haval had a diesel H9 but they shelved it. They sold them in Russia for a while but figured it wasn't worth it. It had really similar performance to the petrol and not much difference in fuel consumption. Their plan is to jump straight into hybrids and EVs as soon as the trend starts. Which will be interesting to see for large vehicles. Especially when it comes to towing.

In my opinion Toyota is known for their reliability, and China is known for their mass production. The electric parking brake is the big deal breaker as well as the touchy transmission for the Haval and for my knowledge the LandCruiser Prado Kakadu has power third row seats. I don't really care about the luxurious interior of the Haval although the 2010 Kakadu has a nicer center console. I'd still choose the Prado or any LandCruiser.

@@Maccat source?? According to abc video that is very biased. They still admit that there was zero evidence of spying but only risk was that they were Chinese and that's it. Basically just concern and no proof. They hate the fact that the number one drone maker is now Chinese. 😏 Beside, as long as you have a secure network and the Drone has no backdoor. It's perfectly safe. The Australian defence force did a 2 weeks review and later continued to use the dji drones as they found no proof or danger that it was compromised. Use KZbin and go to the biased abc video and not once do they have proof or evidence. Which version of the Prado are you driving here? For $63000 you barely make it past a GX, let alone a GXL. Neither of those have leather, heated seats or radar cruise. To get that you need either a VX or Kakadu, both are well into the $70000 even $80000. Yes the Prado has the better engine, rep and off road reliability. But 75% (perhaps even more) of Prado owners don’t do more than the occasional beachy or dirt road. If you want luxury, space, 7 seats and an occasional trip into the country the Havel is the more rational choice. There is always bias and yes the Prado is a better car, but I’d rather save $40000.

I’m not sure what car he was driving in this but the Haval I found to be very sluggish with the turbo petrol. The Prado even though has less power I find the torquey diesel a lot better to drive. Please note I own none of these cars, but have driven both and Prado is where my money would go

Accidentally forgot to turn my rear diff lock back on after stopping the engine and I was really impressed with the handling of our Haval 9 in loose sand on the beach with near worn out highway tyres in 2 wheel drive high range mode.

Jesus Christ if the Chinese are going to imitate a Prado you know it’s already going to smoke it . It’s like buying a fake pair of Nikes and while I’m at it lets take both up to the remote Kimberly and see which one gets you home

You shouldnt have problems sourcing spare parts for Haval. Just use Prado's since its a copy.

Haval has my money. I never go off road, so if im hauling my family long distances, I’m better off just sticking to the Haval and pay more frequent fuel costs.

I had Chinese car before, the only thing that I could fault and mostly similar with all Chinese cars is the underpowered engine beside that everything else was perfect.People need to change their attitudes towards Chinese stuff, I hear many complain without even owing one, if you can afford 90k, be my guest , I call it Toyotasim.

Wow, have been having a good laugh at the heated debate and name calling below😁! Let’s see if I can stir some up.....”I had just finished towing a broken down Niss-can Patrol out of the bush with my H9....but I was almost very killed when I drove my expensive Toyboata Prado to the dealer to trade it in...when the accelerator stuck causing me to rear end another H9, and the Tokhata airbag then shot shrapnel up my nose!! The Prado was written off, but the H9 only had a scratched bumper”!
