Hey guys! So I have been informed I was misinformed about the Toyota plant.. The plants was actually bought from a cattle ranch. New_England_Times said it better than I could "The Toyota Tundra plant sits on land that Toyota purchased from the oldest working cattle ranch in Texas. 1794, refers to the year that this ranch was established by Spanish colonist Juan Ignacio de Casanova."

To put the fuel mileage into perspective, I have a 2004 Silverado 4.8l 2wd and the tundra actually only uses a little more fuel. Remember the EPA has changed the testing methods.

I love my Tundra 1794 Edition. I love the way it looks and the little things Toyota has done to make it a better quality truck like the beefy tow package. The MPG is less the the Ford Eco boost trucks that I drive at work but it is not a huge difference.

If you’re going to review vehicles you should get your facts straight, the 1794 edition was a new trim added in 2014 after the tundra was redesigned. The 2007-2013 were different body style altogether.

Tundra is a powerful truck, Ford F-150 is garbage in front of it.nothing like toyota and Nissan products they make true body on frame suvs and true family sedans.Dont say anything bad about this truck its my favourite we had two tundras both of them were awesome and amazing.

The Toyota Tundra plant sits on land that Toyota purchased from the oldest working cattle ranch in Texas. 1794, refers to the year that this ranch was established by Spanish colonist Juan Ignacio de Casanova. Great review by the way. I get tired of the "specialist" with their "pro" reviews. Your review is what most people do when they buy a truck.

Absolutely, plus the plant wasn't moved there it was an all new plant just for the Tundra. The Tacoma was added to the plant a few years later.

Pretty funny how people expect so much out of a pick up, it's meant for work not for luxury this tundra is more basic than other models. I don't look at gas mileage when shopping for a pick up, I look for utility and reliability

TheKillzone1511 Precisely, you get this type of vehicle if you're going to do work and make money off it. Basically the truck pays for itself. But for people like me, who would love to drive a nice truck like this mostly as a commuter, we need to stay away from this truck unless money is never an issue. But if that was the case we'd probably be looking at bentleys and such.. Toyota has to improve their MPGs.

The Platinum is only a couple hundred cheaper than the 1794 (I didn’t like all the crazy chrome up front on the 1794). The Tundra is actually fairly reasonably priced compared to the domestics

I just love the brand. I find it ironic that many people love the GM Duramax diesel. I say this because the Duramax diesel is made by Isuzu and Isuzu is owned in part by Toyota. I personally am not a huge diesel fan but Toyota could put a diesel option in the Tundra and improve both towing capacity and fuel economy. Good review Sarah...i found it amusing, you are such a tiny thing and you are ripping around in this behemoth. My wife is 5 ft 2 inches and I always find it amusing when she gets into my Tacoma.
@SarahSharesCars

Well...she drives it to work sometimes and she is alone...so not sure what looks she gets. I know you are a Texas girl and Texans think everything in Texas is bigger...BUT...when my wife and I moved from Northern Ontario to the Southern part, she would not drive on the 400 series hiways. In case you didn"t know, hiway 401 is the BUSIEST HIWAY in North America. Just imagine that for a minute because there are so many more people in the States than in Canada. Sarah...I kid you not:)

I have two 2013 GM trucks; a 3500 HD Denali and a 2500 HD LTZ. My daughter is 5:3 and drives the 3500.. people are always surprised when she pops out of the truck.. :). In any case, both trucks average mpg around 16-18 city and 19-21 hwy. Towing is 18k-23k pounds 12-15 hwy.. I will say these are some of the best trucks i have ever owned - mind you every car has its issues.. but the Duramax is a good engine. I would seriously consider a Tundra if it came with a Duramax... The trucks of today are just getting way too expensive.. but the quality is.. there... Good report, I'm curious if there is a review on a the new 2500 HD Denali.. :thanks

I test drove a sport. I can't imagine the driving is much different in this model. It was a smooth ride, powerful engine with smooth acceleration. Felt great! But omg the gas mileage was so trash. I'm talking like 12 on city with an empty truck, just me and the sales man. Maybe one day when they make one with decent mileage. So unless you're making money off it, do not get this for a commuter. Just don't.

@SarahSharesCars
@SarahSharesCars 5 жыл бұрын
I totally agree that's how it should be. Many people are now buying trucks as a daily driver (much like what a Prius would do for you) instead of actually using it for any of it's capabilities besides basic driving.

that might be, bought when I pay 55 grand for a truck....it better be loaded, and that would mean remote start, keyless touch the handle unlock and would not be using a key to unlock tailgate! Not to mention no android auto or apple car play. Go take a look at the Chevy LTZ Z71 with a 6.2L and compare it side by side...step back and actually look at the features

Where this truck excels over Ford/GM is reliability. This has literally been rated the most reliable full size truck for years. Its bullet proof. And probably why most people buy it. The other truck that is also most reliable in the mid size segment is the Frontier. Frontier/Tundra are the last of the old school trucks with heavy duty transmissions. You wont' see computerized active learning transmissions here. No aluminum either. Heavy duty torque convertors as well. If you want something that will run forever then the tundra is the ticket. With Ford/GM you take your chances as far as trouble free problems and longevity. With the tundra its a GIVEN that you won't have problems.

M Cruse i get a laugh when I see a newer GM or Ram already rusting out over the wheels and its newer than my 2011 Tundra which has 100,000 miles on it, runs like new, never spent a day of its life in the shop, and has not a spec of rust on it. It doesn't need redesigned if its right. Maybe the domestic boys should worry about the longevity of their trucks instead of changing crap just so they can advertise them as "all new"
