Now that you have driven both 1.6 tdi dsg and 2.0 tdi dsg which one did you like more and which one do you think is the better compromise between city driving (for fuel economy) and traveling outside the city (for safe overtaking and such)?

The 1.6 TDI BMT engine produces 115HP and 250nm torque, which is enough. Just. It’ll hit 100km/h in a pedestrian 10.5 seconds before going onto a decent top speed of 200 km/h. The result is that while it might take a while to reach motorway cruising speeds once it’s there it’ll sit there very happily for hour after hour. And you won’t need to stop for fuel too often, either. Subjectively it feels lively, and isn’t too noisy, but a later turn in the 2.0-litre model shows that the extra power is very welcome (it's way better for overtaking) and would probably suit most drivers better as it doesn’t have the 1.6-litre’s tendency to feel slightly breathless at times… All in all the 1.6 TDI is still very agile engine but it's better for city driving because it is cheaper and more economical especially inner city.

​@@philipneil2898 To be honest, the difference is not that big. 2.0 TDI engine is quicker but the 1.6 TDI has better fuel economy and it is agile too. If you need a city car, go for 1.6 TDI :)
