My Mother had the 1965 Frigidaire with the 3 ring agitator and that machine was amazing at cleaning all my really dirty play clothes... Great video Tommy!!!

Thank you. I have really enjoyed the washing action. On laundry day I don't get much else done because I just love watching the machine.

I know what you mean Tom, When I was a kid I use to stay down the basement all day when my Mom did the laundry just so I could listen to the washer!!! My Mother's Frigidaire use to go off balance quite often and shut off and I would run to the top of the stairs and yell up "Mommy the washer went Lopsided" LOL!!! I Love These Machines, You Are So Lucky Tom!!!

@@maryrobert80 The floor in my sunroom is where I have my washers. Unfortunately the floor is uneven. I have had a devil of a time trying to level the machine. I finally used wood shims and achieved some semblance of balance.
@maryrobert806 жыл бұрын
Ours was in the basement on a concrete floor and perfectly balanced, but our machine had a rod behind the wash basket attached to the timer knob and every time the machine would go off balance, it would hit that bar and pop out the timer knob out and shut the machine off!!!

This is an impressive washer, that agitator was the best for these Frigidaires.

@@antoniocarter7111 I am maxed out with the number of washers I can accommodate. I have a Maytag 282 a 68 Rollermatic a 63 Frigidaire Multimatic a 60 Frigidaire Diaper Washer and a vintage Kenmore touch pad. That it unless I get rid of one. And that is not likely to happen unless another Frigidaire comes along.

Ok so I have a question and I had to sit down and think about it so if the lint chaser is around the max water level and then you have the circulation ring and energy ring so I was thinking what is really scrubbing the clothes clean besides the flow of the water flowing through the clothes and partially the circulation ring cuz I know the energy ring does not really touch the clothes? Someone help me understand how it washes clothes but don’t get me wrong it is a amazing design I wish they can bring back
@tommyhill51096 жыл бұрын
Hello .cw, First thank you for watching my video. The best way I know how to describe the washing action is that as the clothes are being circulated from top to bottom by the energy ring, the clothes are also rubbing against each other. The clothes being rubbed against each other then soapy water forced thru them cleans the load. I am a gardener by hobby and I have washed some pretty grubby jeans and work clothes in this machine. I would put my machine in a "grunge" match any day against any modern washer on the market today.

It looks like the circulation and lint chaser rings probably do a good amount of cleaning themselves as the clothes have to come up against them when they are circulating. Great video man. God bless your good fortune !

I like the space capsule LOOK of the jet acting but the three ring is unsurpassed in washing action of all the pump type agitators.
@patcola73354 жыл бұрын
Wonder why the jet action washing action is different ? I mean the 3 ring and the jet action both rely on the bottom "energy ring " to circulate the clothes. Maybe the rings on top help ? Or is the energy ring bigger on the 3 ring ?
@tommyhill51094 жыл бұрын
Hello Pat, it is just a guess but I the the pulsator is smaller for the Jetcone than for the Three Ring Agitators. I was never really impressed with the Jet cone. In my opinion the Three Ring agitator has much better turnover. Thank you for your comment.

@@tommyhill5109 Your welcome. My aunt had a late 60s GM Frigidaire washer and dryer. The washer had the blue "space capsule" agitator. When I went to their home I would always go downstairs to their finished basement to see it but unfortunately never got to see it work. Until automatic washer.org and KZbin I never witnessed one in action. Funny because my grandparents lived next door to my aunt and they also had a Frigidaire washer from the 70s. I believe it was that poppy red or whatever they called it but unfortunately I never got to see that one either in operation.
@tommyhill51094 жыл бұрын
My fascination with the Frigidaire washers began when I was about 6 y/o. Out next door neighbor had a 1955 Frigidaire and she would let me me watch it every Saturday. When my mother's Kenmore gave up the ghost I wanted so much for her to get a Frigidaire. But not.

@@tommyhill5109 I remember being somewhat skeptical of how can these things wash clothes with no fins or vanes on the agitators until I realized they went up and down....(I was young). Do you remember the Frigidaire washer commercial in the late 70s up against a Kenmore with the then new dual action agitator ? They cheated because that Kenmore was overloaded and not enough water. Still a classic commercial.
@tommyhill51094 жыл бұрын
@@patcola7335 I remember very well the Kenmore vs Frigidaire commercial. I agree. The Kenmore was overloaded! But I believe given identical 12lb loads of average soil laundry, the Frigidaire would have made Kenmore look like it was standing still in the dust.

Those Older Pulsators are incredible. Never was impressed with that Jet Action one.
