The psychological impact of your work on me is astonishing. I find that more than the particular style you have (which I truly love) the feeling , whether it’s calmness, retrospection, sadness or love, that I sense when I see your work is the true value of what you create. It’s so genuine and honest and touching. Thank you for sharing your inner world with us, you are truly a beautiful beautiful human being ❤️

That is amazing to hear, and very encouraging, thank you :) It means a tremendous amount when I hear that my work touches others in a meaningful way, it is the aspirations of most artists :)

I love how you're style evolved with the subject matter that you paint. I loved your creatures back when you painted a lot of them, and now I feel like you're turning humans and feelings into creatures! I absolutely adore your style, it's so unique and a lot of your pieces really touch something inside me

You're such an inspiration, I've never finished a sketch book I always just end up sketching quickly on random paper then going straight to the final piece, which isn't exactly what I should do oops,,, your art is so beautiful I can't wait to be able to buy prints!!

There are no "shoulds" in art (or at least there ought not be). Different people have different processes. The important thing is to push yourself and get where you are going by the most workable route for you.

What a lovely gift to wake up on Easter morning to one of your videos! This is my favourite sketchbook tour so far. I love the loose pages with overlaid drawings. The birds and ribbons sketch is very strong and definitely needs to be explored further. The failed/fragile sketch looks like a young Elvis Presley - no wonder it failed XD! What happens in the sketchbook stays in the sketchbook (unless you are a you tube artist and then you bear your pain to the world!). I've been practising drawing heads and other things too. I normally share my fumblings with my sister via texted photos. The other day I had to write: "I'm not sharing anything from the studio today because sometimes bad things happen to good people." I super love the butterfly in an ice cube. Not because it's a great drawing, not because it's a great concept (it is clearly neither), but because it says "fuck it, my brain can't handle any more of this serious self exploration. I need to get out of this space... how to... how to.. I know, "butterfly in an ice cube"! Very meta. The last page of illustrations is wonderful. A beautiful light hearted way to end the book - the horned beetle with the lace wings is a stunner! Thank you.

I love that you talk about moving away from reference to prove to yourself that you actually know how to draw things. I often have this thought in my head and try to draw without reference to see what I do and don't know and often feel a little silly wondering about it!

Re-reading it, it does kinda sound like I am. Ouch, that was not my intention at all; I can see that it sounds like I am taunting her. (And I kinda sound stupid) My perspective was that of admiration, and I was remarking on something I thought was rather interesting about her work. I just didn’t do it very well it seems :/
@myriamtillson3 жыл бұрын
@@B1299-d4m haha, don't worry, I did not understand it as taunting or mean at all! It made me laugh more than anything, because it's rather accurate 😅 I don't draa clothes very often, although more and more. But they lend a character a lot of unique personality traits, and most of mt characters are more metaphors than actual people with backgrounds me. I am trying to explore clothing more these daya though :) Thank you for your comment!! ❤
