I came here from under my dash, because my factory-supplied pigtail didn't match what I felt behind the connector block. Seconds in when you showed the dummy plug my question was answered. The sheet that came with the harness did not mention a dummy plug at all.

I have a 2023 silverado 1500 custom. Bought it used with 10k miles on it. I thought the pigtail was forgotten by the previous owner. I had no idea what it was for until i found your video. Thank you for that. Heres my question. I don't like loose items lying around. Is it possible for me to hook up this pigtail and leave it taped out of the way until I need it in the future?

@@kismyc0untryazz-491 yeah, it wouldn't affect anything to have the pigtail connected without the controller

I’m kind of confused because there is no black wire on my GM wire harness

Nice job with the solder joints, shrink tube, and braided loom. Rarely see that today on aftermarket installs.

I bought a truck that did not have factory trailer braje control and i would like to have aomething installed on the dash where it really should be, i dont even know if this is an option. Can a dealer unlock the software?
@MasterJacks10 ай бұрын
It's not possible to install a factory controller, which is frustrating. It had to be an option when purchased. I believe the harness is there, but something about the interface on the instrument cluster can't be programmed, lame.
@brandonmorrison237910 ай бұрын
@MasterJacks I ended up going with a curt spectrum which can be installed in the factory location and then wired like a tradition trailer brake, I just didn't want to screw one into the dash 😅

I have a 2019 sierra. Do you have to have the computer flashed to make work correct??
@MasterJacks11 ай бұрын
No, other than plugging into the harness, it doesn't integrate with factory displays or settings

So where is the factory brake controller connection on the silverado?
@shepss2172 жыл бұрын
I hate how gm lets an aftermarket controller hook up with ease but a factory controller doesn’t…makes no sense. Good video though and nice job splicing those wires

Ayo how often is a throttle body decarb or cleaning recommend to be done ?
@MasterJacks3 жыл бұрын
There really isn't an interval for it. I'd say around 100k with a tune-up would be good. If it's in a dirty climate, or poor air quality, increase frequency.

I wouldn't wait beyond 20k miles to do it if you want to keep it clean and nice, neglect it and then you have idle issue's, I personally do mine about every 3 months or so just as a habit

Do it now and install a catch can…then never do it again.
