People that complain about everything are annoying. They want luxury interior, flashy exterior, they want good mpgs, they want 400 hp, they want the car to be reliable. Oh and they want it to be cheap. I think this ILX is a really nice car. A naturally aspirated engine with a great transmission like that is what I prefer.
@legacyends36854 жыл бұрын
Joey N id say that for most car companies besides Honda and Toyota. There luxury brands such as this Acura, and Lexus hold up remarkably well compared to other luxury or performance cars. I’d expect this car to last well past 15 years.
@jrasero234 жыл бұрын
mmm, you are only as reliable as the tech of the time. We have seen this with Honda throughout 2008-2013 witht heir 3.5 V6 engines that had VCM misfires but eventually that was ironed out after a class-action lawsuit and since then the 3.5 V6 6 speed has been one of the most bullet proof engines out there. We saw this a few years back with Honda and Acura's implementation of the ZF 9 speed transmission which they simply couldn't calibrate right, and while the 9 speed is still a tad wonky they aren't recalling anymore TLX sedans. When I had my 2016 ILX a few people complained about weird shifts every now and then, but it seems since 2016 they have ironed those out.

Acura is finally starting to get their styling in order after about 10 years. Next steps is that they really need to further differentiate themselves with Honda. There's no reason for anyone to get an ILX or TLX when you look at how great the new Civic and Accord are. Acura sorely needs to add a Type S version to the ILX (with a manual) with more power and/or introduce some sort of entry level affordable sports car that comes in 2 doors. They really need excitement at the mainstream consumer level again.

The problem with the "acura needs to distance themselves from honda" argument is that everywhere else except North America, acura doesn't exist. Everywhere else, this is a Honda ILX. My biggest complaint with this car is the fact that Acura is still building the ILX on the 9th generation Honda Civic platform. From what I have been told and have heard in general the car is great though feels outdated and old. The entirety of the car desperately needs a mechanical redesign rather than just a refresh of just the looks and hopefully Acura will deliver. At least they cut the price on the new ILX by $2k I guess. Kind of miss the old front end design that they had going for them... 3rd gen Acura TL driver here... Other than that its a great car with a great interior I just don't know how Acura could sell a new car on such an old platform for that kind of money with the old infotainment. Great review nonetheless!

I love red cack-oons. They're the best!

The best previous-gen Civic Honda has ever released. But hey, I'm sure they'll lease great at 299 a month.

I like that they kept it old school.

Forgot that Acura existed until I saw this. Looks pretty nice, but it's quite hard to see anything distinctively Acura in it... A bit... Lexus-y? New NSX looks cool tho!

Generic and uninspiring borderline cheap design sums it up. Should do OK in Ohio.

agree especially with the tail lights looks very similar to the Lexus

Nah, this looks far more practical than current Lexus designs. For one, the beltline isn't at eye level.

The ADs in between are getting crazy, 2 ads of more than 2 min each and that every couple of minutes? I think the limit is reached... Of course nothing to do with the review, nice as always!

The last good looking Acura, besides the NSX, was the Integra/RSX and maybe the '05 TL. Come on Honda, give Acura some attention!

My dad bought a red NSX in 2016 and I love it, it has something special, and my dad was thinking to get an Audi R8 plus, 911 turbo S and he really liked the GTR, the R8 was the best sounding, but the looks of the NSX are better than all of the other cars and is a Honda so is reliable, the only thing it needs is a better exhaust because the sound doesn’t match the power and looks of the car 😅😅 and people told me that it was very crazy because we had one in September of 2016 😅😅

ok you guys need to make a video discussing the color of that NSX because... GAHD DAMN!!!

I was secretly hoping that the A-spec would be an American version of Honda's Type-S, maybe not on par but a level under it.

Honda has a big presence in Ohio. My 2007 Accord was built there and it still runs like new.

Isn't this one of (if not) the only car you can buy with the K24 nowadays? Really wish they offered a manual with this thing, I think it looks pretty good and I would absolutely love a new car with a K24, they are great engines.

Still on the old 9th generation civic platform. And the fact they did the refresh for 2019, means that the 10th generation platform won't be used until 2021 at the earliest. And the K24 will still be used until 2021.

Even though this is pretty much based off the 9th generation Honda Civic, it still is a nice entry-level premium car to drive~ That 8-speed dual clutch is a great transmission tho~ And while that infotainment system was basically what the 8th gen Accord had 10 years ago, I still think it's solid, it's easy to use, and not too complicated.

Looks good for the new image changes, but feels too small for "entry level lux". Good job guys....remember to visit Cedar Point if you can

Nice review guys, but about the dual screen infotainment... the lower screen is a touchscreen. I think you mentioned that it's NOT touchscreen, so just a small correction there.
