With Aprilia's 2019 RSV4 1100 Factory, now there's even more power thanks to a 1078cc V4 taken from the Tuono which is then massaged quite a bit - to the tune of 217 hp! We take it for a spin around the Mugello Circuit to see how it performs.

At this point, no doubt! Even the new S1000RR is a bit far from this one and the V4R. But what great times we're living... Adding the new ZX10RR and the R1M to the mix, I feel kind sorry for Honda...
@taxi615
@taxi615 5 жыл бұрын
@@bal4av well I'm sure the S1KM will do just fine against the V4R and RSV4 both of which have either a 25K higher price(V4R 50K) and the 100cc and racer engine than Bmw ( BTW Bmws have a performance upgrade to bring the S1K to 217hp) Like you said 2019 is going to be a great year for super sports and at this point it's down to how you feel on the bike and less about performance as they all have similar HP and suspension set ups with all having electronics that can basically make the bike better than any rider could ever hope to be. Japanese bikes will fall short this year for sure as none really offer anything new ( even so they are still all great bikes) I will agree that Honda needs to up their game but I think they either don't invest in the street bikes much more as they have great racing version but none offered to the masses.
@bal4av
@bal4av 5 жыл бұрын
@@taxi615, obviously the S1K will be awesome and they will be biting the ankles of the Ducati and Aprilia. I don't expect it to be a game changer as it once was... I have so many mixed feelings about Honda, I love the brand but it's sad to see that they're not investing as much as they once were on street bikes. And don't get me started on Suzuki, they're lost in time...

I just TR it from my local dealer. Riding up in my modded 18 RF (Race ECU+SCProject Moto GP pipe+ceramic bearings+upgraded brake booster) i signed the demo paper walked back out sat on it and right away i noticed a weight diff which i was hoping you would have gone into detail there cause HOW was that done? Fire it up and oh yes. I agree its sneaky fast compared to the V4S never ridden the R, I would agree its just as fast as the S but in a more refined way. The ducts on the front WORK, I was able to do a 140mph freeway sweeper while accelerating in the turn!! My front end lifts up on my 18 when doing this. Brakes? ABSOLUTELY they are better than my upgraded mill. The entire bike stock is better than my modded 18. Not by a little by A LOT. I was stunned and baffled. How did they do this? Anyways it doesn't matter cause i want it. They only offered me 15k for my 18. Fuckers...I paid 32 last year for it but yea i get it. Depreciation.

Not being negative but you don't sound like excited about the new bike. maybe is just me...or you are very tired from the long track day. Thank you for the review!

Chello’s Vlog kinda felt the same way. He’s really good usually but seems kinda low energy on this one lol, kinda tired

Jetleg and riding a 200-plus horsepower motorcycle at Mugello will zap the energy out of you. That, and I'm trying to process everything going through my brain before opening my mouth to say words. LOL

Let me tell you something, I've owned Japanese bikes, and those things vibrate your nuts loose, but my aprilia is smooth like butter and one of the reasons when you looked down and your didn't realise you over 300, and that's the beauty about thse bikes

I will agree the V4 is just fAAAAASTER but somehow when your on the RF it doesnt matter i can direct it RIGHT where i want. Prior to buying my 18 RF I TD a V4S and was BLOWN away ripping up to 180 mph in a BLINK. Then i rode the RF and got lit up by the police. After evading not one but two pursuit cars on my demo ride i came back to the dealer w/ my wallet open. That sold me. LOL This thing excites me. I wanna ride it...maybe get lit up again. LOL

The whole preamble about making an 1100 can really be replaced with "Ducati made an 1100 so Aprilia made one to keep up"

That Ducati is a Twin and under Superbike racing rules twins can be 1300 cc. MV Agusta made a 1078cc bike over 10 years ago!!

They both would have been developed at the same time idiot..do you think Aprilia developed that engine a few months after Ducati released the V4?

The Desmo V4 has been used by Ducati since about early 2003 with development prior to that. Aprilia if I’m not mistaken debuted their V4 in about 2012, I’m not an aprilia fan boy but do respect the 50+ world championships. Both manufacturers developed v twins and v4s to compete on the race track with the rules giving a slight advantage to V’s as opposed to inlines. Honda even jumped in on the V4.

I want that engine in a Futura, Caponord, Pegaso or more spacious Tuono(current one is too cramped for anyone 6ft r taller). No use whatsoever for a spaceship like this monster. Oh, and punch out the displacement to a full 1,1L. 😁👌

There are many more amateur racers than professional racers and many amateur racing organizations have no displacement limit in their top classes.
