@@names-mars and @others as well I cannot be objective in case of that event, because I am from Poland as well (you can use Polish surnames as passwords - unbreakable :). But next to those monsters you have guys in thongs and baby oil - and one of those fuckers just received 100 k and humvee. Here you got peak of mankind's strength. My subjective opinion is that Arnold & co got all tools but do not want to use them, only bodybuilders should shine ...literally. In terms of tools: 1) he's got GoT star, mountain that rides, HBO crown jewel on the roster, apart from that he is WSM actual champion, and as Eddie Hall said, when you become WSM champion - sponsors, commercials just fall like Niagara my friend 2) it would be so easy for them to put Thor, Shaw or other monsters in 2 minute cameo or 5 minutes henchman/cillain role in the movie like expendables or other sly/arnold b class action flick, yes he could, but would he? it would get sponsors attention for sure 3) is it really that hard to get one of those guys before NBA or NFL or MLB event to perform some action, even Tony Jaa could. Do you see other athletes deadlift more than 300 kg? how bout 400, it would break them in half those guys are so easy to merchandise in USA, they could show on WWE or anything and yes 5000 $ is a picogram (jon jones style) for that event, and 50 k for half a ton deadlift is blasphemy for a Catholic. Amen. They should do a separate event for that

Thank you for posting. It was an exciting competition, unfortunately riddled with many competitors getting hurt. This is part of the game, but it was notoriously bad this year, so much so that after day 1 it was pretty much a said-and-done deal. Highlights for me were Licis's performance and Kieliszkowski on 'his' event, the stone to shoulder. Shivlyakov is always fun to watch compete too, because I think he actually seems to have a lot of joy in this stuff. Same goes for Licis, whose channel on this platform I've been watching from the beginning and it's helluva fun, but he also has an inner fire that balances this out to bring out his best. I'm curious to see where this takes him in the future. Of course, I've been following Shaw as well, getting maybe too much involved hoping he would win, but his injury knocked him out. Awesome of him to remain so professional. There's not enough material on Kieliszkowski. The Rogue video about him leading up to the competition was a great insight. Rogue did a great job promoting strongman. All well done. However, I'm not really taken with some of the commentary and all the errors in there. Most notably was what to my ears sounded like a complete mispronunciation of Thor's name. I heard time and again he was announced as Beersson. Son of Beer. Well, all right, Bjornsson was a good sport about it all. It's also weird to see the champions of old shrink down considerably, although I'd never say that in their face :) I mean, the great Savickas almost seems like a normal dude now. It goes to show these men really take their bodies and soul for a wild ride and that can't last forever (but nothing does). Huge respect.
@MatthewWetherbee
@MatthewWetherbee 5 жыл бұрын
It wasn't in this specific video, but earlier when they were honoring the memory of Terry Todd and had all the champions up, the guy said Zydrunas had won the Arnold 7 times, when anyone who has every followed this sport knows he won 8 times. There were some big errors this year from the announcers.
@Fortress333
@Fortress333 5 жыл бұрын
@@MatthewWetherbee Savickas even corrected the guy subtly, putting up 8 fingers :) Also, they said Bjornsson had appeared something like 9 times since 2012. Now, my maths is pretty bad, but how can he appear at the Arnold 9 times starting in 2012? Anyway, the attention to such details are apparently always lacking in these shows. They always mess up the competitors' weight, height, and age, too. This happened again. I think with Pritchett. Something about him being a young man and 35, then on comes a slide that says he's a couple years older. Well, I forget the exact mistakes. It could be done more professionally, but hey, I'm just watching online and Rogue is putting on this show. It's a lot of hard work.
