As an italian, you don't know how much i'm elated about this historic bronze medal. This is an impressive result for us, i'm so proud of these young girls (they're almost all 16 years old and Italy is not the greatest country in terms of training equipments for gymnastics etc) and i'm looking forward to Tokyo, where i hope to see them improving all their programs. CONGRATULATIONS TEAM ITALY!!!! This American is so proud!! (I've said a few times I hope they step into Romanias shoes until they catch up...but never dreamed they would hop on China's)!! This was just an amazing final. These girls did fantastic and will be a force in Tokyo. Their confidence needed this!!! And of course my American girls did their job. Russia...congrats! as an italian, i'm kinda shocked like...really. I mean, since we aren't the most equipped country in the world (in terms of gymnastics) and since they are almost all juniors turned seniors this year, like Giorgia and the D'Amato twins, (also not going full difficulty, at all)...i'm speechless. I didn't hope for a medal (and yeah, i know that China had mistakes, they're one of the strongest teams) but they proved me wrong. Thank you, btw. I really hope to see them better themselves in Tokyo TT p.s. i expected nothing less from team Usa. They are a force to be reckoned with!

A great moment in time for Russian Gymnastics! The men have just won gold and the women got silver, very good performances on both ends, I'm happy to see the younger generation doing so well under that much pressure. I'm very glad the Italian women managed that bronze medal, individual finals are going to be crazy. The American women seem to be unbeatable, especially with Simone back and now Hurd coming up the ranks, very very excited for next year.

@@timothychow177 Italy was kinda unfocused in the qual round and they also are reeeally young (almost all of them turned seniors this year and never had an international competition like this), resulting in a lot of major mistakes like the three falls off the beam by Giorgia, Desirèe and one of the D'Amato twins. Their average scores in this season were way beyond the general results after the quals (they had a meeting against the Netherlands, a month or so ago, and the italian girls were way better than the other representative while in this WC they qualified after that same country). However, they recovered well and quickly for the final round, finally snatching that medal even though a lot of us didn't expect it :)

Rio was a 10 and 8 point difference...unprecedented!! But Aliyah is coming back for her UB title...and she will get it I have no doubt. But I also dont think anyone will get more than 5 points close to USA. Simone is already planning more difficulty and as she said "going all out" in Tokyo. Kayla will most likely make that team if she continues as she is.... imagine this... Jade takes the world route. USA could potentially sweep the FX and VT podium (even though technically Jade would be individualized).. Lol the FIG realized the mistakes they made with the 4 person team and qualifying routes. Let's hope they realize how stupid it was to downplay simones skills so as not to encourage gymnasts to perform them. That is stupid. They push for more difficulty then do not reward it... Italy did a fantastic job!

Its proven by time that the best lines female gymnasts have at age 14-15 or at least until 16. There are lot of examples of that: Nadia Comeneci, Olga Mostepanova, Daniela Silivas, Shanon Miller, Aurelia Dobre and so on. They are tiny, they are weightless, they are most graceful and most venturesome at that time. What I see at present-day I can call a gathering of elderly elephantine spinsters.

Nah, not really. They won silver without Aliya because China messed up (Tingting fell three times) (China would've placed 2nd if that had not happened). Even in the qualification Russia placed third. Aliya is definitely a big help to the team especially on bars.
