I'm NOT an Audi fan (in general), but I was on the highway and cruised up next to one of these yesterday and must admit it was a stellar, gorgeous vehicle. I kept looking over at it and trying to keep my eyes on the road. It oozed presence and just LOOKED like a $100k vehicle. Bravo to Audi on an amazing land yacht.

Just picked up a 2019 in May 2022 and absolutely love it. Turns out 2-3 year old A8's are quite the bargain, so I couldn't help myself in this day of MSRP + dealer markup for nee cars and slightly used basically going for MSRP. This thing is so serene and yet very competent. All-wheel steering makes you forget you're in a car that's longer than midsize SUV's in parking lots and other tight places. I am not a fan of touchscreens in cars, but Audi really stepped up with these, which are as good as they get, and become very intuitive after a little use. Biggest downside to buying this car is that I cannot imagine going back to a "lesser" vehicle for travel and long commutes. Need to start saving ...

Beautiful executive sedan designed to cover hundreds of miles at 100mph+. It still has that Bauhaus minimalist design. That motor is underrated!

That is awfully quick for a single turbo V6 in a big heavy car. What are the odds that this "335" horsepower engine is actually more like 400 at the crank?

Impressive that the 6 cylinder Audi A8 can do the 0-60 run only 0.1 seconds behind the current-gen Mercedes S550!

Like the virtual cockpit, but the removal of so many center stack buttons would annoy when driving. The ability to change climat control without taking eyes off the road does not look easy with a touch screen.

With physical buttons you still have to take your eyes off the road since you usually want to know what the current temperature settings are. However, if your put your hand on the gear changer, the climate control buttons on the screen are perfectly reachable by stretching your finger. Together with haptical feedback it is actually very easy to successfully change the temperature without looking. I tested it, works fine.

power is nothing without control and the audi rightly dusts the Lexus and its only bested by the twin turbo ct6 by less than half a second which is impressive being down 60+ horsepower...none of them approach the A8s level of luxury and tech the ct6 comes close but CUE is no match for the virtual cockpit

And sales are reflected in this. The CT6 and LS outsold this car *6:1* *in* *2018* . 9600 and 9300 respectively, to just 1600 of the A8 in 2018.

Can you guys drive every vehicle down a bumpy road and film the how the tires and suspension articulate with the road surfaces? And comment on how well suspension dampens and isolated the passengers in the car. And can you also measure the decibel level in each car? I’m more interested in how well the suspension can isolate me from the road than how fast the car can go around some cones which most people never do.

It is without a doubt a very nice car. I cannot decide which looks more boring, especially for the price, the 7 series or the A8... both so bland in my opinion.

I would not buy this a8, I would buy the older a8 that has the 4.0turbo. I currently own a 2014 s8 and it’s very fast for a large sedan

4:12 Immune to the downturn in sedan sales?!?! *WHAT?!* The A8 has fallen from *75%* from 2013 to 2017 (6300 to 1599), and *is down 50% in the last year alone* (3100 in 2017). Hardly immune. Love you guys, but that was really inaccurate. If you mean large luxury cars as a segment, you have Tesla, Lexus, and Cadillac to thank for that. All the Euro brands are down, year after year.

Audi really messed up with the new A8. The last gen was a better looking car hands down, this looks to much like a VW. Also the interior with all the touch screens isn’t a nice touch, they should’ve kept the mmi controller for those who prefer it over touchscreens, just like what BMW’s done.

A tad boring for my taste. Probably a safe choice if you’re looking for a big sedan with nothing notably special. I thing the Lexus LS kills this in the looks department.

Does that V6 actually get better fuel economy in the real world? I'm guessing not. And you get a crappy engine note to boot. The interior looks good...until it fills up with fingerprints.
