In 2019 Cabrinha has two kites that both fit into the same category but take different approaches to meet the same end. The long standing Cabrinha Switchblade and the new three strut Moto.

Hi Rygo,just got a 7 m Moto and also have a 15m contra I notice the wind range has a bit of an overlap, I also have an 8 m switchblade and a 11 switchblade what would be your thoughts on replacing the 11 m with say a 10m as the contra seems to be quite good up to about 18/20 knots thanks Dave

Thanks for the feedback! Between North and Cabrinha the construction and durability is on par. They both implement high quality parts and we regard them as the highest quality. I'll keep this request on my list when writing future reviews. - Rygo

What do you think to buy a 12mt sb or 12mt moto ? Love big air and foiling. Actually I use a 12 mt sb but need to upgrade it..

Sebastian Veloso The Switchblade has a larger wind range. It gets air easier and is lofty. The Moro has less range but is faster. You can whip the kite while jumping for air. It’s more fun to fly but less efficient. The motto is better for foiling. Hope that helps - Rygo

what happen if you crash your 14 mts 3 strut kite¿? can he absorbe well the impact or the long área of just fabric will pay??

There is a saying in kiteboarding. "If you're not dropping your kite, you're not learning." Kites are tested to take impact. All that said, just be mindful. Obviously it's not a good idea to slam the kite down onto rocks or beach grass. On the water, it's going to happen. To give some perspective. We've been teaching with three strut kites for 15 years. In that time, students have crashed many three strut kites from all our brands. Not just on the water but on the beach. It's very rare that we have to repair our lesson kites.
