2019 Chevy Silverado High Country Vs. 2018 Ford F-150 Platinum

After spending a week with the 2018 Ford F-150 Platinum and 2019 Chevy Silverado High Country, I've compiled a comparison between the two best selling full-size trucks. As equipped, both were priced just over $67,000 and had very similar features, but their powertrains were the biggest differences. The Silverado had the well known 6.2 V8 and the F-150 had the new 3.0 V6 Power Stroke Diesel. Aside from that, both were extremely similar. @@PrimeAutotainment I'm leaning towards it heavily. I hated the front-end of the truck, it looks too narrow in pictures. But in person it's not that noticeable. The 12" display, 19 speakers, the panoramic sunroof and the ride quality. For a guy like me that comes from the luxury sedan word; the Ram make it an easy transition.

The Ford looks pretty plain, nothing you’d really take a second look at. The Chevy went for a more unique look, you may think it’s ugly but you still looked. I like when company’s go for a new design rather then sticking to an old one. My sister owns the new sliverado and I love it, but that’s my opinion.

Unique look? it looks like Chevy's attempt to appeal to ford fans. It literally looks like a ford with a tundra rear end slapped with chevy emblems. The design is far from original. They seriously took a page out of Nissan's book with the Titan XD. it don't even have square wheel wells like every other chevy truck before.

Chevy hands down. Love the new look and it will of course be a better built vehicle as usual. Ford only out sells Chev pickups because Chev and GMC don't combine the two as a total. Same trucks. Great review by the way. Both trucks are great and I'd take the Ford any day if the Chev didn't exist.

The higher the package the more they try to impress you with the wheel size b/c they’re not trying to sell you on “work” functionality anymore. All the new model trucks have to come w/ 17” wheels b/c of the brake sizes now. You can still find the smaller sizes if you look but “they” (salesmen/ dealers/ manufacturers) are not going to show you those first. Even though the tire size makes more sense for a truck & it’s more economical, they will make more $ off of the bigger wheel packages & in the future YOU will pay more $ for new tires when they wear out. It is only for show, not your comfort.

Something that people might want to consider as well - F-150 is the most American pick up truck of all manufacturers. These lists are compiled every year by independent sources and the F-150 tops all the other trucks on both of the most comprehensive list. The cars.com list is very thorough and it takes everything into account, not just where the truck is made. The vehicle must be made in USA, have the highest American parts content(85% US parts content)and support the most American jobs. As a matter of fact, the F-150 is in the top 10 of the most American vehicles - that includes all vehicles Not just trucks.

I like the camparo! Even though I’ve commented before, I’d take the F-150 between the two. The front of the Silverado just doesn’t work for me and I don’t think it will age well. I do like the wheels on the Silverado better then the ones on the Ford. The interior easily goes to the F-150. The design of the Silverado is a generation behind and the materials looks cheap. I hope GM got the reliability up on tgeir new trucks. We have had major headaches with the ‘14-‘18’s at the dealership I work for. We currently have 2 in the shop with bad trannys. I’d forgo the diesel and the Platinum trim and get a EcoBoost Lariet with the options.

Not seeing many of the new Silverados on the road, still seems like the dealers have a ton of the old body trucks, which I really thought looked better. That Ford 2018 and up grill just doesn’t look as good to me as 2017 back. The crazy part is 67 grand, but if you got it spend it! Think you can do a whole lot better if you don’t get every option. In the end Chevy guys will love the Chevy and Ford guys will love the Ford and RAM guys will hate them both.

The F-150 is outselling chevy trucks 2 to 1. The Ford has a 21st century design, while the chevy looks like a 19th century basic box with ugly rectangle wheel openings. The front end looks busy and ridiculous. And don't forget the bad engine rear seal design that will leak oil all over your driveway making an ugly mess. Ugly? Yip, starring chevy trucks!

A work friend has the GMC Sierra and the radio controls and other controls are so cheaply made. I could move the whole radio component up and down with the radio knob. Sorry to say, GMC vehicles are very cheaply made. Their current trucks are a desperate attempt to be relevant.

Last Chevy the last Chevy I owned was a 2002 Tahoe. Lots of quality issues -slow coolant leak that they never did fix, oil consumption(which I hear is pretty common and also related to more serious problem), lots of electrical issues and knobs were cheap like u said, they actually fell off the radio. My son totalled it but I was researching the oil consumption at the time and there were some that had knocking as well and collapsing lifters in which led to some engine failures. Mine was wrecked before that happened but I was experiencing some of those symptoms. I didn't have to deal with that at least.

The fact that the F150 is built from aluminum and GM only uses it a sections of the truck and Ford paints the frame snd GM waxes theirs makes a big difference when you live in the rust belt east coast. Also the Ecoboost eats the mighty 6.2, an engine almost twice the size. Another reason to buy a Ford is that it’s built in USA and not Mexico. Theirs a reason Ford sells more trucks and now GM is 3rd behind Ram. GM quality hasn’t been the same since the bailout!

F150 looks more like a truck. The Silverado more like a car/truck which appeals more to females. I like the features in the Silverado because they are more usable. Some features like parallel parking and trailer back up assist I would never use. Again. Like all these videos, they never compare apples to apples. The f150 3.5 Ecoboost should have been used and not the diesel. Also the panoramic roof in the f150 is awesome and brings the interior up another level. The Silverado trailboss in Black looks awesome.

ford looks feminine because the design it's not truck like at all for a man it has stick shift in middle and it has chrome around airvent like a woman's truck Chevy does to but the use different chrome plus it's aluminium but despite all this these trucks are better than the new ram

I live in Canada.. in 2017 I bought my 6.2 Silverado brand new and it cost me 84 000$. It’s expensive living up here! I wouldn’t complain paying 67 000$ lol

I want to say the Chevy but they front end is ugly and the interior isn’t any better than it used to be. It still looks like the dash and hood are high and the seating position is low....love the 6.2 V8 in the Silverado,If I had to have the diesel in the Ford I’d take th Silverado if I could have a Coyote or ecoboost I’d take the Ford.
