The video you see is software reading the video signal from the NES and re-drawing it in HD. There was a glitch in the software (not the actual game) and we all got a Canadian beatbox rave as a treat.

It heared it was a problem with the overlay software. They're using software to detect where the pieces are and redraw them in higher quality. The same software is also why the scores can go higher than 999999. Someone said that the colors were correct on Matts screen, meaning he didn't have a disadvantage, luckily.

To the YT editor: Thank you To the Tetris tournament scheduler who should be interested in viewership: this was incredibly poorly done and its impossible to follow with an important game three happening at the same time the champ is playing.
