I'm so glad I found this whole world of competitive Tetris last year. There's something magical about an inherently simple game that can be so complicated and actually take stamina to compete in. Chess can be complicated but you're not dealing with moving pieces within a fraction of a second for minutes on end. I hope this continues to grow and become a major e-sport someday.

22:34 This right there is my favorite sequence from Batfoy. Tough situation, but he handles it really well. I never would have thought of using the pieces the way he did. Even putting that J-piece to the right is a move that's not easy to see. I propably would have put it on top of the O-Block and it would have been all downhill from there, because then I would have been forec to put the Zs all the way to the left and the board would've looked more and more ugly. But he ends up with a very clean board after these three pieces. Great play! The follwing S-burst is a bit unfortunate, though.

Missed flip at 4:05 on reflection. Big fan of the creativity and quick solves of a tricky stack. Really well exemplified at 21:28. Very similar to how Jonas can see which piece(s) he needs to get back to scoring Tetris’s quickly. Incredibly entertaining style and confidence in his own timing! 👍🏼

He's definitely one of the greatest to ever play the game! Matt played a hell of a round to start but I think Batfoy's ability to focus under pressure was ultimately the deciding factor. I love both Batfoy and Matt's playstyles and I really wanted to see them both progress, but I was really rooting for Matt. His style is so clean and when he needs to be aggressive, he can really go in, as see from those center well Tetrises past level 18. But most importantly, I'm always rooting for the underdog, and it was crazy how the 27th seeded player could make it into top 8, so I had to keep rooting for him.
