2019 Dodge Challengers: Are You Seeing Red?!

So the SRT 392 has disappeared... and the Scat Pack is now a wide body... and the Hellcat now has TWO powertrain options. There’s some bitter and some sweet in all of this.

Since posting this video, pricing has been made available. Starting at nearly $69k at a base model (cloth seats, no nav, etc) to $95k fully optioned.

mikebythesun, I would get definitely get the base model. 800hp, Line lock, after run chiller, etc.. for 70k is a win. I wouldn’t even bother with adding the leather seats, moon roof? Red seatbelts, navigation, Harmon karden, etc.. that will only add more weight to the car

Love the hp increase. Not happy at all with the scat pack becoming a wide body hell cat clone. Always knew my hell cat was a keeper. No plans to trade up . I love the car. Also, I want to stay married to my wife. If I even suggest trading up to a red eye. She would probably try to give me a black eye. Hahaha!

Great video bro, I have wondered the same about the used market. While I love Dodges continuous aggression with the Hellcat, it will take more than this for me to part with my 16 Charger Hellcat as I love it!

I for one like the new Hellcat Red Eye! It’s fitting to have a high performance vehicle that does a little more than a strait line, although, the Demon does it very well. Also I am very interested in the effect of these releases of new models on the older Hellcat’s ‘15 - ‘18 because it will introduce a high performance car to a large amount of people who can’t afford a new “Hellcat Red Eye” or “Hellcat”! I too will be watching this phenomena closely!

Specifically if you have a 2015 Scatpack with an aftermarket Hellcat hood on it that will make it look like a brand new one without up badging.

Proud Scat Pack Owner, you take solace in the fact the Insurance rates may go up for Scat Owners or Potential Owners theres no SRT 392 to take the heat now, it will take a few months to catch up but they will its all in the VIN

I love the new cars but will definitely not be upgrading to a new Hellcat. 707hp is more than enough power for me and I couldn't afford a new Cat @ 72k plus anyway. Did you guys hear how much a Red Eye fully optioned will cost? Source's say at least 95k! That's more than a Demon!

I think the snorkel things are weird.. The scat pack was the one that got a lot of changes. I am satisfied with my T/A 392. It's still unique and at least where i live, Nobody owns one except me so far.

Kurtis Lane Great question. They did not produce many of them - 831 (globally) for 2017, compared to ~3,000 Hellcat Challengers and more than 5,100 Scats the same year. In my hellcat shopping, I found that used SRT 392s prices were keeping used Hellcat prices from falling too far (among other reasons), causing them to level off. The 2019 lineup is totally going to change that dynamic, though only time will tell how it will change. I don’t think, however, that the SRT 392 is going to retain value due to it simply being more rare than the other trims simply because the Scat Pack made the 392 widely available. Over the long term though (20+ years), anything that was rare in production with low miles will fetch a good dollar. That’s my best guess, for whatever its worth.

The RedEye is better than Demon. Why? First of all, we're not seeing Demons knocking out 9.6s in quarter mile as promised.🤔 Second, the RedEye can actually drive anywhere, without "warnings" or "tool boxes" to make things happen. The RedEye is finally, a true car without drama & fuss.

Leonard Rice I agree. While I’ve never disliked the Demon, I was never particularly excited about it because I don’t do drag racing and don’t really care to. I also kinda like the fact that you can opt to get the RedEye stripped of expensive options and with cloth seats, like the SRT8 Core from the pre-‘15 days. Just muscle, no bells and whistles.

Yes, it will as part of an option package. Dodge will discontinue the SRT 392 for 2019 and roll its specific features, including renamed SRT Performance Pages, Laguna Leather seats, and three-mode suspension into option packages for the Scat Pack.

My understanding is that being that they are not technically SRT, they will have the so-called “Dodge Performance Pages” and not the SRT version (similar to what 2018 Scat Packs currently have). I don’t know what the difference in functionality is though, as I’ve never navigated one.

A couple of guys ordered the redeye already and believe it or not billet silver is not available although that's what they were showboating....I am just repeating what I read in the hellcat group so not 100% sure but I'm 99% sure they are telling the truth

Billet Silver has been replaced by a new color called Triple Nickel. That's the color you're seeing in the Dodge videos.

I totally agree with this video when it comes to making a widebody Hellcat poser. WTH was dodge thinking, you can now buy a Scat Pack that looks exactly like my 2018 77k Widebody Hellcat. Same flares, same wheels, same hood, there in no more individuality for the Hellcat, not a good move Dodge.

What's good youTUUUUube!? I like the snorkel but I think I like the current hellcat hood just a little better. Still not a fan of the widebody, so ideally, if I could get a scat pack with the hellcat hood..ehhyyy! But it's not in the budget right now so it's all irrelevant anyway.

Joseph M I don't know what your talking about I've owned Dodge and Chrysler brand vehicles since 2013 and the quality is doing just fine. Quit your complaining it's easier to just find a car you like and can afford, it's really that simple.
