Hey there really appreciate you I've been doing this for a little over 50 years , I was teaching at tech school when ignition point were on their way out in the 70's so I've gotten to a total transformation - I've just installed and engine in a 2019 Escape and found the coolant lines to be a nightmare other than that it's not soooo bad but lot of work

Man I’ve been bending wrenches for 40 years. Started in high school, the Army, construction equipment, millwright and now independent repair shop. I love your channel because it’s a wealth of information I’d probably never hear of until I run into a vehicle with some of the issues your covering. Now I can be armed with the knowledge of what the possible problem can be before starting my diag. Thanks and keep the videos coming your the shit.

my daughter fell into that misfortune, the same thing happened to her with 2019 escape ecoboost. She was financing it at a NISSAN dealer and they told her that she was covered by the FORD warranty. she took the exhaust to the ford dealer and they took care of the fix. But the dealer didn't lend her a car because of her while they fixed the Ford Escape. She spent a month without a car and paying the fee and insurance. But the story does not end there. they gave him her supposedly fixed car. Within three weeks the FORD SCAPE started failing again

Thank you for making this video and many others I will need going forward. Have to do this job myself in the next few months. Have a 2018 with the 1.5 4Cyl. Wish I had the 1.5 3Cyl in it, wouldn't be here...haha. Anyway, I did subscribe and liked. I can not pay 8k for a repair that Ford knows is their fault. Though I believe the job you do is worth every penny, it's just the point. I'm not putting another 8k on top of the total price of this nightmare. Too bad too. I have so many Fords that I have used and worked on. A 1939 9n, just replaced the OEM bakelite camshaft gear, put electric i12v system in, starts in below zero conditions. My plow truck is a 1991 F350 5.8, again easy to work on, 1999 F250SD, not a big fan of the cab over design but still pretty easy to work on, 2008 Escape with the 3.0, easy to work on, 235k on it. I have a few diesel turbos with pre2007 CRDs on them, have not had half the trouble with them that I have had with this 2018 Escape. I should have known Ford wouldn't get it right off the 1.6 issues. I have a 2021 Bronco sport with the 1.5 3Cyl designed from the 1.0 3Cyl. It must handle the boost pressures better. I have no issues with the 2018 1.5 4Cyl until just after the turbo engages. The cylinders could use some more block between them at those pressures. They should take some tips from the 4Cyl and 3Cyl diesel designs out there, maybe they ended up doing that. Either way I'm stuck with a machine that has lost much value and is a finacial trap at this point. When you face these sort of situations, you know you're on your own. So thank you for the info, it will not be like changing a head on a straight 6. Head is buried on this thing, might just be cheaper to buy a long block, swap some parts out and scrap the rest.

I've got a 2019 2.0 that is getting new engine. Only threw a code for top temp sensor. Went into stupid mode. Dealer wanted to do short block. Then said they needed to do entire engine. Something about newer block doesn't have coolant running between cylinders, causing cracks? Even though oil was fine. This is about 1000 things that could go wrong if not put back together correctly. Bad connections and shit like oh, forgot to put clasp on that one hose way up in there........thanks for videos. I subbed

@@FordBossMe just watched it. Do they have the same design issues on the 2019 era 2.0 motors ? Mine is still in there getting new motor.. Seems like this can break Ford if it goes to recall, but guys at dealer told me they mostly see this in older engines only. Out of warranty. So more like break the customer. It will be about 30 days bf they finish. That I've been wo vehicle. This is a major dealer in big town. Baffles me.

My 2018 Escape had the short block replaced and on the list of parts it had 9 quarts of transmission fluid. When I look at the leveling hole it does not look like it has been ever opened and no spill stainage. Would a Ford tech ever drain and replace the transmission fluid as part of a warranty short block replacement?

I have a Ford Escape 2018 and been adding coolant like every two weeks or so, but I’m afraid if this can cause any problems with the car. Also, the engine lights turns on for days then turns back off. I’ve trade in my old car for this one due to my previous car giving me lots of headache and $$ spendings, but now I’m getting nervous that might be the same with my Ford Escape.

Great channel brother. Unfortunately I'm in this boat. My warrantied Escape was diagnosed in Sept, service department allegedly ordered the parts and I'm STILL waiting, here in March. After raising a stink with management now they tell me the parts are in but their repair crew is swamped with work and it'll be atleast another month until they can begin. I've never felt this frustrated. I suspect they're intentionally dragging their feet with me because they're not profiting off me since it's a free warranty repair. Does this sound common?

A question - I have a 2019 Escape manufactured in June 2019 , would that mean it has the improved short block that's now being used for 1.5 Ecoboost replacements? The TSB mentions 1.5 Ecoboost motors built before April 2019.

Hi sir I'm wondering if you could help me or give me your opinion on what I can do. I had my 2019 escape go for the short block replacement the shop did it was supposedly a master technician but broke every clip ripped wires the crank position sensors dangling down by cv axle. The little window where you can see the flex plate if you crawl underneath the car it looks like flywheel has been coming in contact with something cuz there's metal missing they did install the subframe crooked another dealership confirmed all that and the engine knocks it's not the high pressure fuel pump it does it on cold start but it's not right when you start it so I know it's not because the engine is cold you won't hear it for a few seconds and then it starts to do it like a rattle / knock needless to say it didn't do that with the other engine that was it. Ford keeps telling me I have to do a workmanship claim but I'm finding out I've called five dealerships and none of them want to get involved. Because they don't want to cut their own throats with that said dealership. I don't I don't I'm not really sure what I should do nobody's really offering any help to get me to that point of getting something done customer satisfaction people are not any help at all.
