I’ve owned a Ford fusion and it does not have a flimsy sound when you close the doors at all. You’re not closing the door your slamming it hard. And as far as the capless fuel system I’ve never had any dirt built up underneath my cap less fuel area

Austin Murray I feel pretty dumb not knowing that “ecoboost” was a turbo but live and learn I suppose. I still didn’t like the lag and wasn’t impressed with the AWD. I’m glad about the dial because it freaked me out the whole time.

The part at the beginning, when you mash the gas, the turbo (small as it is) still needs a second or two to spool up. That's the lack of throttle response you are speaking of. Most people don't realize that you cannot drive a "turbo" car the way you do a naturally aspirated vehicle.
@alfredlyon275 жыл бұрын
sheryl_lori ellingson that makes sense . I didn’t even know that “ecoboost” was a turbo . It’s a pretty weak one then 🤣

@@alfredlyon27 Yup, nothing a tune can't fix though, my 2018 titanium was real sluggish, tune helped it a lot, now I have to be extra gentle when pushing the gas, turbo lag is still there though, nothing you can really do but think way ahead.

Turbo lag; I got rid of it by changing the exhaust and resonators to allow greater flow and it sounds like a v6. I have the 2.0 and it’s deceptively fast!! However the problems you have, I don’t have with mine.. Why were you slamming the doors? 😂 My car is at 50k miles and there are no signs of age on the interior (I maintain it frequently)
@alfredlyon274 жыл бұрын
First of all, this was a rental car so any problems aren’t mine. Secondly, I slammed them because all car doors get slammed occasionally, usually by guests. The main reason why I slam car doors on these reviews is to compare them to all of the Lexuses that I own and have owned. They are all ten years or older and when you slam the doors you get a nice thud and never the sound you heard from this car. We both are of average weight and there should not have been that much stretch in the seats.
@Spoodiceous4 жыл бұрын
Alfred Lyon I see. However when I close my doors I usually get the nice thud. It appears that the car has been brutally treated before you reviewed it, which is unfortunate because you didn’t get to experience what it would be like to get it straight from the lot
@alfredlyon274 жыл бұрын
ADarkShadow that’s kind of my point. I take build quality into consideration when purchasing a vehicle. Please don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed the car. I think a lot of times when I do reviews I’m kind of playing the devil’s advocate.

I slam every door and most of my cars have 300k miles on them. Go to any Lexus and give it a good slam. You probably won’t get any rattle. I wasn’t necessarily complaining as much as making note of it. If it was my car I would probably not slam it based on the fact that it rattles.

T Rishel while it’s true that highway miles are not bad on a car there are few reasons why I don’t take my own car on these trips. Five thousand miles in two weeks is a lot of wear and tear on a car. The tires , shocks, oil, and brakes just for starters. Also, the bugs and road debris ruins the front end and the hood. Lastly, the interior gets pretty dirty as much as we try not to. The salt from the salt flats for instance will never come all of the way out of the carpets.
