After seeing this video, great job btw... For my needs, an average Joe... Fish occasionally, just going out to relax, and enjoy different locations, in a quality kayak. The compass seems like the best bet. Light weight, just as quick, stable enough, and much less expensive

@ Mesquite Outdoors, you’re from the Valley?I’m originally from Falfurrias, Tx. I’ve been wanting a hobie kayak, I feel like the PA14 would be a PITA to transport w/o a trailer and really like the outback. My concern is that I’m about 275-280 pounds and worried if the outback seat will support my BA!!! Guess I gotta slack off dem tortillas lol.
@MesquiteOutdoors4 жыл бұрын
I'm originally from Zapata but been down here in the valley for like 5 years. Ya man sounds like you should go with the pro angler! Cadillac on the water 👍 Your gonna be a lot more comfortable. If you have a truck and launch at boat ramps it should be pretty easy to launch if you have a cart. It would be difficult to launch if you need to drag it! But ya 5 min of struggle to get in on the water is worth it for the hours your gonna spend on the water. Got some other videos fishing in the bay you should check em out👍
@leonardtorres96784 жыл бұрын
Mesquite Outdoors thanks for replying, didn’t really want the PA because of it’s weight but thanks for your input. They have a 2016 PA14 in great condition near me for $2,500 and willing to go down a bit on the price, you think that’s a good deal?
@MesquiteOutdoors4 жыл бұрын
Ya that sounds like a good deal👍. Good luck🤞. The PA is definitely heavier than the outback but the outback ain't exactly light lol. They are both badass kayaks you'll be happy with either one of them.

Awesome! Thanks for watching! Which one are you thinking of.getting?
@michaelferguson1672 жыл бұрын
I have a PA and an Outback. I haul the PA on a trailer and as such I'm really limited to my fishing locations. The Outback is more limited with space, but far more useful as you can throw it in the back of a truck and launch it just about anywhere. I suppose the Compass is just as useful as well. All that said, my GPS on my PA has never gone above 4.6mph. In windy conditions you're going to get a serious workout if you're more than a mile from a boat launch in a PA. They're all quality units with varying applications but you will pay big $ regardless of which one you choose. Then big $ for accessories after you buy the kayak. They are however, a blast to fish out of and waaaaaaaaay cheaper than a bass boat.

Can you use Oars on the big one ?
@MesquiteOutdoors5 жыл бұрын
Ill admit I'm not to familiar with rowing so I looked it up. "Paddles propel boats in the same direction as the paddler is facing. Oars propel boats in the opposite direction from the way the rower is seated." I don't think the proangler is designed to be rowed with an oar. If you want to improve the paddle ability of the pro angler I'd suggest going to a kayak shop so they can fit you with a good paddle that fits you the best

To be honest, I do not know why would I buy PA. It is heavy, very poor performance offshore, it is hard to move on the water, it is expensive. If this flips, it is difficult to flip it back. It requires a trailer. I am 6'4 and 220 lbs and I am very comfortable in 10 feet slayer 10 and outback is just a great kayak for offshore fishing. Unless you want to bring your entire house to the lake, I would not buy this boat.
