What is better for leg room with the drive? I’m 6’3” and all legs . In another video a person was talking about the compass having more leg room from seat to drive.

I just measured from the back of the seat to the center of the mirage drive pivot point on both the compass and the Outback. They both measure 38”. Hope that helps a bit 😁

That issue with the bar on the seat on the compass could be rectified with small section of pool noodle slotted lengthwise

Yes, that would give it some padding, however it would still be pushing into your tailbone area… Might feel better though 😉👍

I have both an outback and compass older models, the outback seat is noticeably more comfortable. not that the compass was bad. looks like the 2022 compass has a upgrade on the seat.

I’ve been out on the Outback a few times now and you’re correct. The Outback seat is noticeably more comfortable! I never had an issue with the Compass seat except for the placement of that back bar that would hit me right at the tailbone unless I scooted forward in the seat a little …😉

I don’t fish standing up very much myself since I fish mostly deep water, but I do stand up to stretch my legs a bit. I find it very easy to stand up and look around without feeling like I might fall over… I do think the outback is just a little more stable than the compass, but not by much 😁

Hi, useful review even for a french beginner... Is the weight difference between the 2 kayaks felt when you put the outback on the roof of a car or when you take it out of the water?

Glad you liked the video! 👍 I really don’t notice much of a difference between the 2 when cartopping… The heaviest part is lifting the bow up to the rack, but they both aren’t that bad…( I have shoulder issues and I can still get them up there.) 😉

I can see having different seat options so you can have different price points, but it would be great if they all mounted the same so you could upgrade if you wanted to…👍😁
