If anyone is watching this video in 2024, I have a stock 19' CB650R with 17k miles on in it. I have maintained it well but I haven't been precious about it. This bike has been absolutely flawless. 4 oil changes, 2 chains, 3 sets of tires and 2 air filters with no issues whatsoever. Near daily ridden for the past 2.5 years in AZ, if you are considering a CB this is a fun and reliable machine. Gonna have the timing checked and adjusted, but sticking to the maintenance schedule Honda set keeps this bike as reliable as my car.

The CBR 600r is on my shortlist for next bikes. I've never ridden or owned a sports bike. So I'm wondering if there's an appreciable difference? I mean I know there is, but is it something that I would enjoy coming from a standard style seating position? And while this is plenty fast and flickable I find myself drooling over a more aggressive bike. My CB650R is probably going to influence all my choices and bikes no matter how much I want to experience everything because it's just been so damn good.

@@jacobbaumgardner3406 They only real concern I have with this bike is that it is apparently not common. I was recently talking to a sale manager where I bought my bike about the 2024 update on the CB. He told me without knowing I was the person he was talking about. That he hadn't seen a CB650 in 2 year and that the guy who bought their last was "a lucky bastard" and the timing was perfect. Apparently he was eyeing that specific bike for himself. With that said parts that are specific to the CB650R are 100% going to need to be ordered. I order parts at least 2 weeks before I need them for that reason.

Nailed it. I bought a CBR and the fact it will, in typical Honda fashion, work when you want it to, and work very well, is just what you want. 83 CB650SC Nighthawk owner here. I find this bike cures everything Spite said. You do have to wrench on it occasionally due to age, but the great Honda engineering makes sure it kept to a minimum. Just bushings, fork seals, pretty much anything made of rubber due to age. Do the repairs right and you'll never have to do them again. The engine is AMAZING, buttery smooth all the way to redline and it feels like a turbo kicks in at 6000 rpm. Cruising on the highway is great. Dual disc front brakes make sure the twisties are fun. I love my 2022 CB650R. So smooth and refined and yet howls to red line when you get it on a twisty road. It's a bike that can do anything. I put a quick shifter on mine recently and it made such a big difference. I wasn't expecting much from it but it actually made it so much more fun to ride in the twisties. I also ordered a G2 Ergonomics throttle tube with a 10% more aggressive cam profile so that will help a bit I think because the stock throw on the throttle is quite long. Good for beginners but it can be a pain in the wrist on long journeys. I've got an ECU flash tune from a local dyno tuner and he said it should be making about 95hp. Thinking about putting a K&N filter in there soon too. I still have the stock exhaust because I think it sounds good without being obnoxious but I do like the sound of these bikes with an aftermarket exhaust. The tuner also said that the stock exhaust flows very well and that aftermarket exhausts often make the same or less power than the stock exhaust so that's a good reason to stick with stock. Maybe one day but for now I like the stock exhaust and will stick with it.

I actually did get an FJR1300 with ABS this summer, and it's also good. once rolling, feels much like that nighthawk did under me. I'm just not a fast-bike rider, I guess. I don't need the 141 hp of this FJR, and I do love the bike. It's great for taking my wife, daughter and son on rides, which they love. @Jack Price I know right?! It shouldn't just be Suzuki and Kawasaki offering non LAMS versions of the same bike. The flat spot is definitely noticable. My thought is that most of the time around town you're under that rpm range, and then when you're opening it up to redline merging onto a highway the power kicks back in. I rarely ever am riding in that rev range and I'm guessing that's why Honda tuned it like that

Would be much better without ABS and TC. There is literally no skill required to ride modern motorcycles these days. Sold my 2015 R1 to get my poster bike of 2003, The 954RR just because of this. yes it is less powerful but the old Blade is much more fun to ride. Same with the Hornet, I had a Hornet 900 and i loved it! Made the mistake of "upgrading" to a 2008 CB1000R and about a month later i decided to buy my old Hornet back and modify it by fitting a SuperBlackBird engine into it.

I’ve had my 2019 CB650R for 2 years now. 6,000 miles in an no complaints at all. I’ve got a long highway commute and it really spices it up. Sadly, I need to sell it because my good ol 2003 Jeep Liberty kicked the bucket and I need to buy a car. Adulting is breaking my heart 💔

I already own one Cb650R and I'm still watching this until the end. Beautiful bike, sounds amazing and (from my noobish perspective as this is my first bike), rides like a dream. The display could be a bit brighter and bigger though but this is a minor thing

Hi, I’m considering this for my first bike as well. Just wondering how the suspension is over little bumps in the road. Also how it behaves in traffic, whether it has any heat issues? Thanks.
@MetalAddict994 жыл бұрын
@@rkr6237 hello! I haven't noticed any heat issues in traffic. She handles well so you will rarely be stuck in traffic :p. This has a sport suspension so you notice bumps on the road but it is not overwhelming.

Good Stuff Guys - I really enjoy your videos! So, I live in Canada, did my first ride on friend's 250 Kawa Dual, practiced on a Vulcan 500, trained on a Honda CBR500, Bought myself a Tiger 955i to pass my exam, enjoyed a Honda 250 Dual on a tropical island.... 6 years later, I am considering this little CB650R.... Sell my old Triumph adventure and go with the Honda? Is it a good idea?

I have the 18 CB1000R When modded with full exhaust, rapidbike fuel controller, BMC air filter and Pirelli Angel GTs It’s a beast! That Euro 4 is a killer on the midrange stock ECU. Although not so sure how it affects the 650R

Currently I ride Duke 390 and I am really looking forward to this motorcycle for my next upgradation but in India we have the CBR 650R and not this CB.. hence my only chance to owe one is to win your giveaway . I would pay the customes you guys don't have to worry for that :)

I think most people are modifying their bikes less often. These are depreciating assets and your just wasting more money. Nice to buy a bike from the manufacturer that has plenty of power where you do not need to buy a Stage 4 for the power it should have.

You mentioned the F4i, but missed that this CB650R, and the CB650F before it are the modern version of the Honda CB600F Hornet aka Honda 599 (little brother to the Honda 919).
