2019 Hyundai Veloster Turbo R-Spec (M6) Test Drive Video Review

One thing American needs more of are hot hatchbacks. They are the affordable, stylish, and fun vehicles that enthusiasts young and old can enjoy without getting into financial trouble. Hyundai tried to make one a few years back with the first-generation Veloster. The result was a sporty looking thing that was really and economy car. This here is the 2nd generation Hyundai Veloster and hopefully it’s the real deal.
Prices range from $18,500 for the base 2.0 model up to $28,150 for the Turbo Ultimate trim. The vehicle seen here is the Turbo R-Spec with a 6-speed manual transmission that is priced at $22,900. Under the hood is a turbocharged 1.6 liter model that makes 201 horsepower and 195 lb-ft. of torque.

Hey what's happening I've purchase a 2020 Hyundai veloster turbo r spec I've changed out the Mufflers and exhaust tips it's loud enough for me with all the pops gurgling and burbling especially in cold start and I've changed out the spoiler N nowadays they discontinued the veloster N & the ultimate turbo and the r spec they've the kona N and the Elantra N & thanks for sharing your videos with me and I'll always subscribe to your channel and support it too 👋👍😃♥️

Was ready to buy the Golf R, but the price came out to $44,000 with the fancy color I wanted. $44,000! Got the R-spec in Orange for $21,500 today. Yes, the Golf R is better but not twice as better.

I've noticed the same thing on the normal elantra (2013). Its somewhat annoying. Many video game controllers have a dead zone in the center for precisely this reason.

Don't get the Rspec confused with the most powerful Veloster. N varaint coming this fall with 275 HP... kzbin.info/www/bejne/bHO5dpuCd89qg7M Yes golf R will have more power BUT it's also a lot more expensive. Hyundai has already said the N will priced between the GTI & R.

Odd about the steering feel you mention. I had a Kia Forte with the same turbo motor and I'd bet the same electronic steering and I actually got rid of the car because of it.

You're right, the Veloster N is the one that Biermann himself said was made to compete against the GTI and it's already better in terms of performance.

why do they (Hyundai) need the 2.0L when they have the Elantra GT that does the hatch thing better??? The Veloster needs to be a wagon...add an inch (or 2) to the wheelbase, add a 4th door, add space behind the rear wheels, keep the profile and you have a great looking quick wagon that would be fun to drive...bonus - add the larger turbo motor from other company cars and you have a car with few, if any, competitors...I want to like, but I still think there are better options to include a base GTI and of course the Civic Si makes a very compelling argument even though it isn't a hatch... #savethemanuals

LoL my 21 year old BMW Z3 still produces more torque and tops out at 135 mph.also doesn't look like a transformer. I'd rather buy a BMW Z3 M or 2.8 coupe than one of these

Albert Bierman? He designed the capabilities of the N, not this silly R Spec. This is the version for high school kids, if u want real serious performance from an affordable brand get the Veloster N!!! With Performance pack it is an amazing machine.
