2019 i9 vs 2023 M3 Pro 16" Macbook Pro review - Worth the extra money?

@@danimusbar Yeah, the battery on the M3 pro is great! I’ll be testing it against the M2 soon, (I will include a battery test) so it’ll be interesting to see how those results turn out.

good video dude. I can hear the audio fine. Youll get a mic when you can. Pay no attention to the asshole telling you to get a mic. Youre just getting started. Keep it up dude. M1 Max and M1 Air for me. Even Linux Virtual Machines run wonderfully on both

Got the 16" 2019 i9, 16/1TB, for $999 CAD all in. Battery's a bit weak (180 cycles), otherwise it's a good laptop for everyday use, mostly watching videos and surfing. It's heavy for sure, and the bottom side edges are sharp, so watch your fingers. Haven't tried out the 2023 Pro, not really keen on it. Prefer the Air for portability. Nice video, keep it up!

Thanks a lot! If all you’re doing is general consumption then I’d definitely go with the MacBook air. If you need the extra screen size the 15” isn’t too much more, and I’ve heard good things about it. The 2019 definitely did have sharp corners lol 😅I’m thinking about doing a video on the the M2 MBA soon too.

If I needed a heater, like if I were working outside in the winter I'd want the Intel to keep me warm 🤣. I'm so glad they have the SD slot back! The M3 is so much better for seeing the screen outside. A very solid comparison and review!

haha, yeah. There’s a few shots where I really messed up the audio. I’ve got a cheap takstar “shotgun” mic but I definitely don’t recommend it. My next purchase will for sure be a better quality microphone.

Record a blank audio sample with just some noise and denoise the audio in Audacity. Better Noise = Better Experience. Also keep yourself visible in the frame. YOU are the subject afterall.

The i9 will beat the M series in long video renders. The ARM chips seem To slow down a lot after about 15 minutes.

Yeah, they can definitely overheat if the fans don’t kick up, especially in the macbook air. I might do a long test and see what happens!

It’s crazy how slow these old macs seem now! I don’t know if it’s the software or what. I use an i5 2017 iMac as my main computer and it seems like it gets slower every day lol

By color accuracy I mean the ability to retain detail in the shadows and highlights, as well as the ability to show more colors and color variations than a standard display, making more realistic or vibrant images. It also adjusts to the ambient color temperature.
