DanDanTheFireman not the bike for you. It’s way too tall of a bike for you. Imagine slow speed training with that bike... you’re going to drop it... it’s the new cool bike and I’m sure you’ll get a lot of views but ergonomically speaking, the bike doesn’t suit you. I wouldn’t ride a bike wear I had to stand on my toes in traffic... doesn’t seem fun

The Rebel is working out great, thanks for asking. Perfect first bike in my opinion. I'm about 5'11" and 170lbs. I'm already at 1700km and will be going for my first maintenance this coming Friday. I love the bike man. I catch people looking all the time and I've received plenty of compliments on it. Every ride is a learning experience and I love it. I highly recommend if you're considering the Rebel.
@seaninness3345 жыл бұрын
@@jasminroy1985 I'm a bit bigger size wise and getting back into cycling. I keep skipping around interest wise. Recently I've been interested in the XSR900 but this Indian FTR1200 is very nice too. Can't afford either right now but, fingers crossed, I'll win the latter in the Revzilla contest. :) Very glad to hear you are enjoying the Rebel 500. I looked hard at it but I really prefer a higher seat, mid controls and I think I would look a little goofy on it. I also think that I would feel the urge to trade up on it too soon as I do have experience on other bikes. Still, I was impressed with it and all the customization you can do with the new Rebel line. Have a great season.

Hi Dan, I was going over the same rollercoaster of emotions, when I've ridden FTR 1200 RL for the first time, it's an amazing piece of a motorcycle. I've never had so much fun, on any other of my bikes in the past, not on an L-twin Ducati (it was close but not as visceral, nor on my 3 cylinder XSR 900). Amazing bike, but you need to take a ride to understand how awesome it is :).

@303MoTo5 жыл бұрын
My advice would be to not get too discouraged. Takes time to get used to riding and everyone learns at a different pace. You need practice to become better. Just stay in your comfort zone but don't be afraid to challenge yourself at times. Find a nice empty parking lot close to home and practice low speed skills, turning, stopping, shifting etc... I once forgot to downshift at a stop light and tried to take off in 4th gear, did not end well... happens to us all at times. Check out MotoJitsu, great resource for learning.

Thoughts on the FTR being a first bike? Before everyone goes ape shit and say you gotta start on a CBR300 or KAW250 let me explain my thought process on this one. The safety features and different riding modes on the FTR are the ONKY reason I would consider this bike. Plus, it looks fuking bada$$. From what I’ve seen, read, and talked to the dealer about, I that the rain mode really tames the bike down. Also I want new so I don’t have to deal with any initial maintenance issues, so don’t point me in the direction of CL for some used ROM. One other item of note is that I am 41, so I do have a taaaaad bit more maturity and “road” experience on my side. That being said, what do you guys think?
